That generation of Lexus was underrated in general. GS400 and 430 making 300 hp and extremely reliable, the LS430. And the iS300 could be had with a manual.

@@UProductions457but also remember, these cars were sold during a time where the Japanese automakers had to lowball their hp ratings to be sold under the new gentlemen agreement. So realistically, while it says 300hp, it could be like 320-330

Those Audi S4 4.2L's can be bogged down bad with a clogged fuel filter which most seem to have. I remember my old 2005.5 Audi S4 lost a whole half-second off my 0-60 time once I replaced it.

@@phillyp92 sadly true but manual swaps are pretty common and could be done for reasonable money. i mean the s4 is sport model. so naturally they have a manual option back then. the gs is a laid back luxury cruiser. never intended as a sport model. i think that gs did very well for what it is. but the audi 4.2 is also known for not pushing the factory claimed numbers. and they have a carbon build up issue like so many german direct injection engines. wouldnt be suprised if that s4 here wont push anywere near the factory claimed 344hp anymore. plus extra losses through the awd
