S550 W221 Mercedes Hood Won't Open

Mercedes S550 W221 Hood won't open.
Both hood release cables got disconnected from the hood latches (when I was replacing my radiator fan).
This video shows how I got the hood opened by going thru the driver side inner fender.
This information may be valid for Mercedes S-class from 2006?-2013?
I didn't need cables, but if your hood cables are broken, they are relatively inexpensive via Amazon or Ebay. You can search for these part numbers and they may fit your S-Class;
Front cable (latches) - 2218800259 $20
Rear cable (release) - 2218800159 $15

Hello Rob. This is exactly what has happened in my 2008 Mercedes Benz S63 AMG after replacing the radiator electric fan. I was going today to flush the ABC suspension and after closing the hood I could not open up the hood. The latches on both sides are locked. What a bummer. That is funny! The same root cause; cooling fan replacement. How did you get your hood open?

After a generatorchange i remounted this metal upper radiatorplate where these latches are fitted and after i fixed and tested everything i closed the hood and you can guess it... I tried first trough the grill, then watched your video ,removed the left inner splashguard and lucky for me the outer cables wheren't locked,so by pulling firmly the hood opened. The cables were loose, by refitting both back in the "U" didn't fixed it, they fell right out again, by pressing the "u" with some pliers solved this and now all is fine, thanks for the video.
