S6 Ep 9 motorhome to Tomar Portugal and a vineyard!

This week we move out of Porto and head inland in Portugal to a majestic town called Tomar.
We managed to get on the aire at Tomar but it was extremely busy but as we arrived early afternoon we managed to squeeze in.
It was so nice to take a leisurely stroll around this charming town with cobbled streets. We decided to leave visiting the Convent of Christ which is a fortified convent on top of the hill overlooking Tomar and was built by Templar order of the Knights.
Next morning as we had parked under the shade of trees and it wasn’t overly hot we left the dogs in the van and went up to Convento de Cristo. We were going to go inside but as we reached the entrance a coach had arrived so we decided to give it a miss and go back pick up the dogs and walk to the Aqua duct - Aqueduto do Convento de Cristo. What an amazing construction to feed the convent with water from neighbouring town Pegoes.
We left the following morning after a lovely walk to the weir and headed for vineyard near Setibul which we had booked online through Portugal easy camp. You can park up overnight and the vineyard or farm give you a sample of their products - ours cost us 19€. Lovely place but the flies were very annoying.
