Hi - my teacher says the keywords for AC 2.4 are outcome, guilty etc "anything that suggests the outcome" and that it wouldn't be strengths, weaknesses and usefulness because its all about how it influences the outcome so its "slightly different". Is this correct?

Hi, that works well. I get my students to look at the strengths and weaknesses in order to achieve the 'assess' part of the Q but making sure this assessment links to the outcome of a case. Easiest way to do that is linking to actual cases :)

Pleased my video helps :) There are not a lot of case studies jumping to mind but maybe the Amanda Knox case would work, as she had a very good legal team/barristers and there are a number of trials to fully assess how they affected the outcome of the criminal case :)

is there case for a positive outcome of witnesses

Hi Zoe, most of the cases we look at are were witnesses are detrimental rather than positive. I would say any case which is successful with a right verdict, might have positive witnesses but can't think of any from the cases I study with my students :)

So are you supposed to talk about the positives and negative of each influences together?

Hi, yes you need to explore each one and discuss strengths and weaknesses on how they impact the outcome of a trial. So if it is a good impact =positive applying case studies to each to justify your points :)

That would be great with a case study to back up each too, to emphasise the point you are making. It is a bigger mark answer so worth the extra detail :)
