当時、それまでマーカスはジャマイカボーイズとかやってて、ソロアルバムはすでに出してたけど自分の名前のプロジェクトでどんな音楽をやるのかと興味津々で、この会場とは違うライブアンダーの会場でライブを見ました。 もちろんこの「Run For Cover」もサンボーンとかで知っていた曲ですが、この時の演奏は強烈すぎてそれからマーカス名義のライブもブルーノートとかで見てますがいまだに忘れられません。

これTV放映された時のビデオ、テープが切れるまで見まくりました。 この時のマーカスも最高だが、メンバー各自が最高のパフォーマンス。 文句の付けどころが無い。最近は５弦、６弦とか多弦ベースが流行ってますが、 マーカスが４弦ベースで十分って、証明してる。（決して多弦が悪いという意味ではない。）

I went to Anita Baker's concert at Budokan in 1990. The sax player was dressed in the most stylin' suit with long hair. His sound was amazing...then I memorized his name "Everette Harp" In the next summer, I was watching TV, Marcus Miller performing. so I found the sax player!! (OH! Everette HAAAAAAP!!!!! What a hunk!!!!!!!!)
