@1:15 The sound of that engine when it fired up....That classic 900 sound. NOTHING QUITE LIKE IT.

i had a 1991 for over 25 years,gave it up with over 300,000 miles and original engine and transmission rebuilt in 1994 was still going strong and still had that rumble when fired up,what a car.

Saw an article about this car...THAT IT HAD BEEN STOLEN!! Since I read the article, it says the car had been recovered but the bumper was ruined and looked like the car sustained some scratches.....Glad you got your SAAB back Tony!!

That’s a beauty. Good to know there are still specialty shops taking care of these.

Excellent work, what a joy it must be to own. Technically should be described as a replica or tribute, given that the Carlsson was a UK limited edition only. Still, very nicely executed.

This car should be reviewed by Doug Demuro or ISSIMI. Someday I'd like you to do the same for me, but make me an as-new SPG.

Do you know where I can get a wing like the one on this car? We have a 86' saab SPG identical to this, but its red and the wing its dry rotted. Car has always been garage kept since purchased in sweden. Car is perfect with low miles

Carlsson editions were right hand drive, correct? So the chassis for this restoration was a US spec model right? The Carlsson editions are the cream of the crop of 900's
@clarkwilson35052 жыл бұрын
Bizarrely, the UK MY1991 convertible T16S in Monte Carlo yellow was, in fact, 'the cream of the crop'. That was known as the 'Bumble Bee'. Much rarer than the Carlsson because it was a 'half-year' model. The vehicle in this video, is, in fact, a replica, because the 'true' Carlsson was only available in the UK (RHD market) and as a 'grey' import to Australia. Same as the 9000 Carlsson. To the untrained eye, it's certainly a talking point, for sure.
Wonder why America never got the temp guaged high up. You have the radio where the aero got guages. I think your guages are low down out of virw
@clarkwilson35052 жыл бұрын
Whoops... 125mph speedo... you might have bothered to buy a replacement face per the proper spec... I expect most of the parts came from Two Stroke to Turbo or Neo Brothers in the UK. Nice, but a wannabe.

Not a perfect restoration! There is orange peel in the paint, on the side ventilation paint has coming off, the spoiler has wavy surface, the rear wiper and motor is not there, just a plug.
@earthbarnes66943 жыл бұрын
Most of these cars do not have a rear wiper...at least not in the US 🇺🇸
@niklasgroning57923 жыл бұрын
@@earthbarnes6694 They usually take them off when the motor get stuck, from factory all 1980's and newer hatchbacks had it, apart from maybe some really basic Metros or small Opels.
@timothyduggan2263 Жыл бұрын
@@niklasgroning5792 Not true. I've had several 3 door 900s and none of them had a rear wiper.
@niklasgroning5792 Жыл бұрын
@@timothyduggan2263 So the wipers had been removed then.
@timothyduggan2263 Жыл бұрын
@@niklasgroning5792 I don't want to argue with you but I can say with absolute certainty in the UK at least (not sure about other markets) these did not come with a rear wiper as standard. On the 4 3 door c900s I've owned, not only was there no wiper but also no rear wiper switches. Did the previous owners remove them as well? I've owned, driven and fixed these cars for 25 years, am a member of multiple Saab specialist forums, seen and spoken to the owners of 100s of these cars at shows and club meets and can guarantee you this is the case. In fact I'm going to stick my neck out and say I'm fairly confident more 3/5 door 900s in the UK were sold without rear wipers than with. Obviously none of the 2/4 door cars had them (I've owned 3 of those too by the way).
