I owned a 96 and drove it to 375,000+ miles. Sold it for $500. move to Seattle, bought a 93 and drove it to over 270k then move back east and bought another 900 that I still drive daily and love. RIP SAAB...

I'm here because my Facebook memories say 12 years ago today I bought a 1997 Saab 900 2.3i XS Talladega Auto!! I was boasting that it had a cd multiplayer🤣. Was pretty reliable if I remember rightly, just a bit of a rattle from the steering column

They started to produce the NG900 1994, not 1993. They ended the OG900 1993.

Anyone knows how to bypass immobilizer/alarm or security system on 1997 Saab 900 2.0 B204I Europe version with black immo/alarm connector (should be with VSS also) , like wiring/jumping/grounding immobilizer plug/connector pins or trying something else? Hard to find basic alarm system wiring diagram for this model in Google. Tried several methods to bypass what some people have tried in Saab forums, but none worked. Car attempts well to crank and even could start for a moment, but then something(probably immobilizer or security system?) cuts the ignition. Cleaned also the ignition lock. All I can see on the front centre of dash small LED blinking rapidly two times per second, none of the remotes seems not to be working, but remote's LED's are flashing, i can see it. Central locking with key in door works well for all doors. Could the Immo/alarm module be bad? Can/could I fix it myself at home if possible? I don't have Tech2 or OBD scanner/cable also here at the moment.

OG900s are obviously very cheap, but they are the most boring Saab ever, and they have a lot of reliability issues and are not that well-built. The first couple of model years were full of flaws. The 9-3, although it looks exactly the same, is much better, after Saab made a lot of updates to it before renaming it, and those are also cheap. The 9000 is actually even cheaper, they are sold almost for free and they are better cars than NG900s, although it is an older design. OG900s are not expensive either, they are fantastic cars who are amazing to drive, extremely well-built and a lot cooler than the NG900 which is their least interesting model. Still, NG900s are obviously a good car for little money. But not very cool or interesting.

@@-m.d.n-9019 Go by the shape. OG 900 have the big bumpers. The one featured on the video above is NG. Slightly different years in different markets.
