Danny, your finger is not a screwdriver! 😆 😆 The closest I ever came to doing anything like that was replacing a 3 speed gear box with a 4-speed borge warner and a Hurst shifter on my 57 Chevy over 50 years ago. 😐 Happy holiday, Danny. Enjoy the time with your family.

Hello, thanks for the great video! I currently have a shot linkage on my saab and I was able to follow the steps of this guide to replace it. I was curious if you had more detailed instructions for what to do if you don't have 5th gear after reconnecting everything, the top bar of my original linkage had snapped so I couldn't put my car into fourth gear before the procedure. Thanks!

I belive in video I go over it. To re install the two pins in shifter and trans while the bolt is loose on the linkage by the trans. Then trying u twist the linkage a little one way or other and tighten bolt back up and check to see if it goes in gear if not it’ll need to be adjusted just right. It can be hard to do not have the exact pins used to adjust linkage

Hey Danny how I remove the linkage from both shaft

Hi 2:20 in vid shows removing the rod from shifter removing the bolt then 3:30 shows where the other bolt is located that holds linkage onto trans

@@Retiq I remove both bolts cannot get it off do I need to put it in 3 gear to remove the linkage

@@jamrockrc172 it may be rusted on and need some penetrating oil and trying to spread the opening of the shifter linkage and the trans side you might be able to get a little screwdriver or prybar to pry it off

@@Retiq it’s not rusted moving on both shaft it looks as if it needs to go in third gear to pull linkage off one shaft

My shift linkage broke with my car in 2nd and i’m unable to shift it at all into 4th. can i still replace it when not in 4th?

I’m not 100% if I’m understanding your problem? If the linkage is broke you can move the lever on trans to put it into 4 the pin will fit into the hole. Wiggle the lever until pin drops in. While installing new linkage all gears should work if only the linkage broke
