I'm not sure what's going on here but I pulled my engine through the top by myself in my little garage...... Twice . Even though taking off exterior body parts isn't necessary but I can understand that, I did that once just to get better access but mainly just so I don't scratch or break any lights or fenders

This is for the V6 engine not the B207. The fuel pump and fuel gauge sender is very very different.

No incorrect. In this video this is a 2008 9-3 2.0 4cyl. I was working at a Saab dealership at the time of this video. Iv done god knows how many 4cyl fuel leveler sensors. We had a 2008 or newer 9-3 2.0L 4cyl xwd and the gas tank is different bcz of the xwd and the pump assembly looked exactly the same but wouldn’t work until we bought a whole new assembly specifically for the xwd even tho the level sensor was exactly the same all oem parts. We put idk like 3 in. The V6 and xwd is practically the same steps as this video with very minimal disperaties

First of all, under each back light is two small bolts which you never explained, they need to be removed and all you do is take out the bolts and no need to disconnect the lights they just kinda hand there, when you pulled out the bumper I thought has he damaged the bumper ? There are 12 bolts screws in total to remove the rear bumper

Having the same issue with my TX. I ended up just pulling the fuse so that it doesn't run but I have yet to do diagnosis on whether it's a bad switch or if the hose has a leak. What's the process for diagnosing a bad switch though?
@Retiq2 ай бұрын
I’m kinda blanking on it rn been a while. If the pump runs like it does in this video with car off I’d imagine it’s switch… car isn’t running but then I say that I’m I’m second guessing bcz if it’s leaking out the switch would turn on. But it’s not supposed to run until it’s running… so then it’s the switch haha idk my head is killing me rn 🥲

@Im-not-clever auto tech of 15 years. yea you have to get the customer to sign legal waivers and release all liability at this point. I had an f250 years ago that he had only 1 pad in the RR, the other fell out because the piston was rubbing on the caliper. I had no brakes pulling into the shop, had to pump the pedal ALOT quickly and do a D,N,D,N,D,N shift rapidly to not hit the wall. We told him what we found and he said i don't want it, I can do it cheaper. So he did end up driving away in that truck. highway patrol had to come out and talk with him before he could leave. It really sucks when your car is down, but safety items have to be done. I hate giving my customers a bill for a few thousand dollars but safety systems are not to be trifled with. Especially on something like an f250 or suburban or Yukon, just don't take the chance
@Im-not-clever3 ай бұрын
@@christophermaldonado1777 yeah I had a young man come in one time wanting a pad slap. We start looking at it and find the DR had no pad left, no rotor, and the caliper had fully extended and ground through everything to the point it was digging into itself... Absolutely nuts
@christophermaldonado17773 ай бұрын
@Im-not-clever yea thats usually what happens. The inside pad falls out and the piston is grinding on the rotor. It's just funny to me sometimes when I hear "yesterday it started making this weird noise" or "yea it just started out of nowhere" honestly it's a bit insulting because we know 100% that it didn't just start happening, if you trust your shop to fix it, which seems harder to get nowadays because everyone goes into it thinking "this guy is ripping me off" but if you trust your shop, dont lie to them, we know you're lying already so just be straight with it. That mindset of "downplaying it like it just happened so it will save me money" doesn't work in the auto repair industry, being honest, loyal and trusting your professional repair techs will get you some leeway and save money. Theres so many bad people in the industry that make it 10x harder for the honest one to just make a living
@Im-not-clever3 ай бұрын
@@christophermaldonado1777 Yessir, ain't that the truth. It is definitely insulting, like I'm not an idiot I do this every damn day. I tell them there's 2 people you should never lie to, your Dr and your mechanic. We both know you're lying and we are both just here to help you. All that does is tell us you're either a liar or an idiot lol
@christophermaldonado17773 ай бұрын
@Im-not-clever i was literally gonna make that reference about the doctors. We are the car doctors and you can't lie to us because we can see and know the truth. I conduct myself in a way that I do understand the financial issue. I want to save you as much money as I can, the bad guys out there make it so much harder. I just had to put $600 in coolant hoses on the wifes car, I'm fortunate enough to know how to fix it but that bill would have been $2500-3000 if I had to pay somebody else to do it. I feel that fully and I think alot of customers don't understand that we have empathy. I want your bill to be as low as it can be but I also have to make a living. working skilled labor used to be a respected thing, but I feel like it's dwindling now. I'm 31 years old, and never had a job outside the auto field, but im getting pissed off that we work so hard and our dollar don't go anywhere. We work so damn hard, and EVERYONE has a car that needs to be fixed, it hurts me that we aren't valued enough

@Retiq our shop is about 30 miles east of Sacramento, but I remember having a customer with a Yukon xl, they drove back down from lake tahoe, through the mountains to sac, about 100 miles, and then drove another 30 miles to us and said "all of a sudden it was making noise when we put it in 4x4" the LF wheel bearing was dropping rollers in our parking lot. The only thing keeping that wheel on the car was hopes and dreams. It was a sealed hub/bearing assembly type, but that was over a year ago and we are still finding those destroyed rollers in the parking lot every now and then. But that one stuck with me, "all of a sudden"...
