People must have beat on that poor thing. Mine has 180k with the original clutch, and the engine has been smooth as silk since I bought it. Mine is an 04 Arc Vert. Sounds to me like the owner is not a very experienced driver.

Hi just came across this video I have a 2000 Saab 9-5 which is a manual transmission I’m having trouble getting it in reverse I had change the linkage and that wasn’t the problem now I’m thinking of changing the clutch and slave cylinder do you think that would fix the problem with that transmission

@@jamrockrc172 the adjustment of the shifter could be off. A worn linkage can cause it not to go in gear. I have a video replacing the linkage and showing the adjustment it’s pretty much the same as a 9-5. I would try that. If all other gears seem to work but not revere i doubt the clutch would be bad it’s prob not aligned right. Could the trans be bad? The shifter assembly could be bad? Is it oem? Or short shifter kit?

The shifter linkage was so expensive. I know a Saab guy who has a Saab account for Parts and he purchased it with his discount for me.

@@jamrockrc172 yeaah some Saabs parts are big $. I would still check shift linkage alignment. Otherwise the shifter assembly could have a problem with the reverse lock out

dude, thanks. But, I have an older one (2000 Gmc savana 3500). one ignition coil only on top of motor. can't get my hands in there at all. can only change the back 2 plugs. How do you get out the other 6. they are covered by a metal cover for each plug, lol.

Hey I was working at a dealer at this time we had bunch of parts cars and what we parts new were just bought thru dealership. Goldwing saab sells used parts, eeuroparts, esaabparts are good places to start.

@@Retiq im based on EU so that's different. I through that you have access to new parts. Also I have a problem that my pump is always off. I know how this vacuum sensor works. It's just a simple switch with a spring and a membrane. But those are literally breaking often in those cars. I had few of those cars.

Hey at this time in the video I was working at a Saab dealership and ordered most parts straight thru the shop. I would look at europarts, esaabparts, fcp euro, I think there’s a couple other places to buy new parts but I can’t think I’ll comment them if I rember

I own one of the cars, a 2003 Saab 9-5 2.3T. Mine had serious rust issues, I assume, like yours. Great video and incredible effort, but I'm not sure the entire process is worth the trouble. If I had a rust free wagon, would I buy your engine if I needed one? Probably not, I would have mine completely rebuilt if possible. Would I buy your used parts? Again, probably not, changing parts is a lot of work, I would only install new parts to avoid having to do the job twice.

Nice yeah this effort wasn’t necessary to remove the engine I did I lot of extra work to try and save stuff and just how I wanted to do it. Some people want some stuff used some is cheaper to get new or sometimes hard to find, all depends.

My dad told me a story of a friend who bought a mustang when it came out and had a place make it a convertible. He said it was a terrible job and they left the car somewhere in Brooklyn and what do you know the car disappeared 😂
