The Gripen looks like a reengineered Viggen, which was very cool. I like the Gripen. I think the Indian Air Force will select it. It can outmaneuver the F-16 and F-35 easily. I would bet that the Indian Air Force will privately eliminate the defect ridden F-35 from consideration as it is too expensive and has too many problems and will pretend to be interested in it.

Both the F-16 and F-35 are superior in at least some flight regimes and in some metrics. First of all, no, the F-35 is not as full of defects and problems as you think it is/has. That's mostly a myth. Secondly, define expensive. Look pal, the F-35 is not as expensive as you and many people think... For instance, an F-35A already costs less to buy than a Typhoon or a Rafale for example. And the CPFH is continuing to decrease at a good pace. Lastly, Lockheed/US is not even offering to India the F-35 in the current "MMRCA 2.0". From the United States... - Lockheed is offering/marketing the F-21 (which is basically a tuned and highly advanced and special F-16V Block 70/72 for India) - Boeing is offering/marketing their F/A-18 Super Hornet (the Block 3, most likely). And their F-15 Advanced Eagle might join the competition too...

Based upon watching F-16s and F-35s a lot and seeing the great performance of the Gripen in this and other videos, so I base my opinions on observations, not the voices in my head. Besides the Gripen’s outstanding performance, the other reason why the Indian Air Force will select the Gripen is that Swedes are not going to threaten India with sanctions if they purchase the S-400. Russia and India have had a longstanding relationship and that isn’t going to change. But, if I’m wrong and they do not pick the Gripen, I would think the F-16 would be their choice, not the F-35. The F-16 has proven itself and is cheaper. The F-35 has advanced avionics and radar, but has structural issues with the gun mounting and some models are restricted to short bursts of supersonic speed. Stealth technology is overrated. The F-35 can be seen by surveillance radars, which can vector in aircraft or missiles.

I doubt that statement is true by any means if 35F 22 raptor shoot and destroy it before you can even see it radio playing but I can’t compete with the US
