2008 Silverado ECM Resets By Itself Part 2

All vehicle computers, modules or whatever we'll call them, have the ability and necessity to retain memory. This is done for many reasons. When you clear the memory, lets say post Check Engine light repair, you're also resetting the "Readiness Monitors". This vehicle seams to be resetting by itself. Should be pretty simple with a couple of quick tests. Didn't see this one coming.

S & A don't panic when something does not make sense , just slow down and go over it again 9 times out of ten its bad wiring , something someone else did or bad information . Thanks really appreciate your time and the videos !

Great diagnosis and repair video. By the way, .62 miles equal 1 km. Apparently the Autel reads in km then converts to miles.

great diagnostic mate. i have a truck 2013 gmc sierra 5.3 in the shop with the same exact issue coming from 3 shops already, i am also making a video about it because this is something very common for the fuel pump module to fail too. great job. and thanks again for sharing.

I don’t remember from the first part if you did this : but if it wasn’t for the silver bullet,I would’ve probably installed a breakout box and look at the com lines when the PCM was resetting itself. I bet that the waveform was getting disrupted. And if I saw that,I would’ve probably started disconnecting modules. Anyway,great fix! And thanks once again for the lesson about the wings of death! 👍😉

Yes that is the PIP5627 under TSBs I brought up under Part I and certain AM FPMs are installed with a terminating resistor in it & just so happen to have wings...imagine that!!.

Wow I would of never guessed but looked like good old Doorman part ??? I have had a window regulator to replace it 3 times because of the crapy quality. I am now a non Doorman lover. I used to think they were half descent

Nice job just curious does it say Dorman and aftermarket in the article or just aftermarket. Dorman really gets it name dragged threw the mud. I have there fuel line repair kit and it's awesome but that's about all I use of Dorman unless out of choices. Great diag work and I bet that was a head scratcher.

Its specific to Dorman. They've acknowledged the issue and supposedly updated the product. Dorman needs help. Thanks you my friend

Can that fuel pump module cause a p0690? I replaced battery, alternator and positive and negative cables. Engine Code comes on and turns off on its own.

As for you’re Mileage thing it’s probably because it’s imperial and not metric. If you were to try and change the value to KM s it would probably be a value of one

What's up with Staten Island and Dunkin Donuts? is that the national state coffee. Every vedio around that area i watch someone has a cup of Dunkin Donuts.
