In this Video we get the second part done on the RAW 500 build series! This model is building flawlessly like all SAB helis. Very excited to finish this one and get the maiden flights in!

Love watching these builds. I’m always wrenching on other peoples classic cars. There’s something therapeutic about watching someone else building intricate stuff.

Thanks for feed back! It’s hard to film a step-by-step build series into a 30 minute video with four hours of footage lol I try and make sure everything is cut out that does not need to be there and there is no spaces or length of video clip with nothing being sad or silence while I tighten up the screws and such. But I appreciate it! Feed back is always great! Thanks for watching!

When you made your charge leads for your charger, you have to buy more of those Sab proprietary connector in order to use that quick release system?

I believe it’s in part three I show what I did but I came out of the proprietary connector to a EC5 and my battery plugged into that. That way you don’t have to make any special leads you can use whatever connector you have on your batteries.

Is micro lube something found locally, at auto parts stores or should I just order it online? Or, what is a good alternative?

Is there a tip top found the good size betewen pinion and motor ? To have a belt well aligned with main rotor gear...?

awesome videos and rc heli channel, just one thing why using retaining compound instead of red loctite? like the bearings with pulleys, at one time these bearings can worn out and the part is over with retaining compound

Thank you! I greatly appreciate it, because retaining compound is designed for exactly that retaining bearing races into place. Red Loctite is designed for holding screws into place, and doesn’t have the same compound and holding power as retaining compound. You don’t want your bearing race to spin in the housing so that’s why you use it.

Hey jeff i hope you’re doing well. Do you think it’s worth buying this model if i already have the raw 580?

I’m doing good! How are you doing? Do I think it’s worth it? 100%. It is the perfect in between size helicopter. It’s not too big but it’s not too small. I am going to do a comparison video on the 420, 500, 580 and 700 just so you can kind of get an idea of the size.
