From start to finish this song is so magical in it's own way but when the chorus starts I vision myself with you or with Sabaton and everyone else all celebrating on Christmas Day with others as we're "brothers" and "friends" no matter what nation we're from whether we're from Britain, France or Germany. I also see the song as a double to celebrate Christmas but also in celebrating Remembrance for the fallen who didn't return but also remembering those who celebrated December 25th during wartime.

You can feel the emotions the soldiers on both sides felt through your voice. The deliberate switch from a minor to a major and back to a minor is so fitting. A truly bittersweet moment. The bravery to go into NML without the knowledge of whether the opposition would shoot is truly remarkable. Amazing song. The lyrics speak volumes....Lest we forget...December 25th, 1914.

OMG. I didn't know that story. Reading about it at the end of the video is realy moviong. Those soldiers were greater that christmas eve than the whole WWI. There should be monument commemorating that. I think many rehearsals were necesary to, as it is said "wear out the emmotion".

Thank you for the kind words! Such a truce has been forbidden since 1914. It is, indeed, too cruel to turn enemies into friends and then kill them the next day. Well, if you ask me, there shouldn't be wars from the start, but I guess they're inevitable.

Great job! FYI...After the truce was over, many of those troops were rotated out and some of the units faced disciplinary action. The higher-ups feared they wouldn't fight with the ferocity prior to the truce.

Love so much how I can actually understand the lyrics. Nothing against Sabaton, most of the time they can be understood, but this song was one i was waiting for a lyrics video so I could know what all the words were.
