I love Sabaton. I started hearing about them through my 15-year-old daughter. She wants to be a military historian, so she's passionate about Sabaton's songs. And since I follow everything she follows on social media, I started following them too. 🤣

Aussie here....This is the original line-up until March 2012 when 4 members left leaving Joakim and Par to find the new members - enter Chris, Thobbe and Robbin who was replaced by Hannes. Tommy joined Sabaton when thobbe left in 2016. I learnt about Galipolli through school and Sabaton gave me the opportunity to learn more about the Galipolli campaign

Did you notice that Joakim does not have his tattoo there? 😁😁😁😁 It is really old song - from 2008 - The Art of War Album 😁😁😁 Here we have the old squad. Daniel Mÿhr (keyboard), Daniel Mullback (drums) , Rikard Sundén (guitar) oraz Oskar Montelius (guitar - he plays the solo).

Hej GivenToe, jag är fran Tyskland. Travelled to Sweden in 2019 for holiday btw. This song was on the 1st Sabaton album I bought called"The Art of War" from 2010. At this time on the drums must have been Daniel Mullback (2001-2012), Keyboard Daniel Mÿhr (2005-2012) and on Guitar Rikard Sundén (bis 2012).

Sabaton IS great. I'm stating the obvious here, but I love history 😁. This is an older song. It's from "The Coat of Arms" album with original members of the band from 2008. Very powerful song, I'm glad you're doing the reaction to it, because the song, for me, is underrated. And Sabaton is known for their solos, aren't they ?? 😎 Don't worry, I haven't heard about Gallipoli either. But after this song I started digging and found out all the grousom details of that battle. Very engaging reaction. Do more of their older songs if you can. They should come back to light. Stay healthy 🤘🎶🇵🇱

It sure is! Yeah around 2008 is when I first started noticing them. I didn't like all songs and took a short break and around 2010 I made another go for them and fell completely. Sabatong are known for epic solos indeed! My favourite being Tommy and Chris though. Most creative solos ever. And powerful. Thanks Elzbieta! Always nice to read your comments!

Thank you very much for Sabaton and for this song. A very emotionally powerful song. It is from their 4th album "The Art of War". Behind the drums sits Daniel Mahlbach, the first drummer of Sabaton. I liked him very much, I was worried when Daniel left the band. And in general, when 4 members left the band at once, I was afraid that Sabaton would not recover. Luckily, Hannes, Chris and Tommy (now Thobbe) gave the band a new life. Thanks for the great review, take care.

ABBAMAN.... I actually liked the music in the song a lot the keys really did it for me. You know I'm not into the subject matter of their songs but they are top-notch when it comes to songwriting. I mean it's good to remind people of the past and what has happened when I would prefer a different lyrics😊

The single was released on Myspace in 2008 so almost 20 years old and I think Sabaton's first single? Anyway the song is great, but only my nr 2 when it comes to Galipoli. Nr 1 is of course The Pogues' version of The Band Played Waltzing Mathilda. Totally different kind of music but a truly awesome song. I can really recommend it. Beware thought it's 8 minutes long. I don't know what songs are on your Patreon request list but if you find Screaming Eagles and/or Blood of Bannockburn (both by Sabaton) I can really recommend them too.

Hello GivenToe. recently subscribed to you after watching your amazing and hilarious reaction to Beast in Black - Power of the Beast. Amazing reactions then and before (watching back many past reactions currently as well). Since most of the bands you react are my favourites it's an extra spice to the enjoyment. Whenever you have a chance, and time, I'd recommend to react to a german power metal band called POWERWOLF ( in case if you are not familiar with them already or someone already beat me to it ). For a good starter I'd suggest Sainted by the Storm . Keep up the great work 🤘

Sabaton are masters of war history for sure..David, if you are interested in movies about war campaigns. I highly recommend the 1981 Australian film directed by Peter Weir...Gallipoli..Very moving..Speaking of baby faced Sabaton...Mel Gibson is also extremely young in the film.. Thankyou David...you sound much better..😊 Until next episode.. Ciao bello ❤

Never heard of Gallipoli?! I get not knowing the history, but not knowing Peter Weir's masterpiece with Mel Gibson from 1981 is inexcusable! Never head of it! I thought it was just a "town" in Italy. History is not my strong side I'm afraid, but thanks to Sabaton, I learn a lot! Which film is that? I like Mel Gibson a lot but that one passed me by I believe XD
@marinamucic908
@marinamucic908 2 ай бұрын
@@GivenToe I was joking, but in reality, it was easy to miss that movie because it's from 1981 and it was the movie that skyrocketed Mel Gibson from Austraila to international movie scene. Gallipoli is a peninsula in Turkey, then Ottoman empire, where the battle between Ottoman and Australian forces took place and that's what this song is about. The movie is really worth seeing, even if it's not entirely historically accurate, as usual with such productions. The name of the movie is also Gallipoli

😅 So ... 16 years is "very old" nowadays. And this is not the Sabaton "you grow up with" ? So you are 12 yo ? Wow...Do you react to those mideval Bands like Iron Maiden? Or even these Stoneage Guys Deep Purple? Guys... seriously...
@GivenToe
@GivenToe 2 ай бұрын
Hahah yeah VERY old XD I started listening to my first Sabatong songs around 2010, the first song I heard being "Primo Victoria" and "Attero Dominatus" followed by "Metal Crüe" and "Nuclear Attack". My favourite around that time is "In the name of God". But after that I took a "break" from Sabaton, and when I returned to them, Tommy and Hannes was in the band. I might react to Iron Maiden since I have not heard all of their songs. But I did listen a lot to them in my youth. Especially the first 2 albums with Paul Di Anno.
