I am always amazed how they make music that blends so well with the story that they are telling. We kind of leave the present to experience that event they are telling us about.

My first Sabaton song back when this album came out. That odd timed section in the middle with the guitar solo actually reminds me a lot of Balkan folk music - but it's cooler , I enjoy it very much!

Those heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives! You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country to of ours. You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well. The inscription on the Ari Burnu memorial in Gallipoli

nah, churchill was used as a scapegoat for gallipoli. it was a sound and logical plan that if succeeded would have had massive gains for the entente and the loss of a ally for the central powers. ian hamilton who oversaw the campaign was at fault, making rookie mistakes like not having the navy give covering fire and artillery support to the troops on land. theres a reason the evacuation went smoothly after he was replaced and kicked out of the military.

No the whole plan was just horrible and useless even a novice civilian could tell the whole thing would go horribly

When i first learned about Gallipoli i was so fascinated I read as much as I could on it and to this day i cant believe they launched it. It was one of if not the most terrible battle plans ever. The whole thing from top to bottom was terrible idea strung into terrible idea.
