@Demiclea Wood and paper! Japanese sliding doors are traditionally made using paper. and of course the Japanese were keen to keep these wood and paper buildings nice and dry so when the incendiaries came raining down it went up nice and easy. Especially if HE was used first and scattered all this nice dry wood and paper all over the place. The videos of the Tokyo firebomings are infinitely more horrifying than the ones of the mushroom clouds of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in my opinion. not saying that i'd rather be in either place at the time. horrendous.

The initial footage is He-111s from the Luftwaffe. And the British were much, much more...into it. They conducted the world's first 1,000 Bomber Raid on Cologne. They also burnt Dresden to the ground, while a combination of Soviet Artillery and USAAF bombers reduced Berlin to a pile of rubble. The British would later beat their own record with a raid on Dortmund. 1,108 bomber aircraft took part in a single attack.

@Cybermat479 жыл бұрын
The Germans used incendiary bombs as well. And the Allies didn't start the terror attacks; the Luftwaffe attacked Warsaw and other Polish cities, and Luftflotte 4's attacks on Stalingrad killed the same amount of civilians as the raids on Dresden. Don't get me wrong; I'm well aware that the average German serviceman had the same morals as most people, but Germany's Nazi leaders were brutal.

Yes, but bombings in London and Berlin served to demoralise and destroy industry. Pearl Harbour was simply a military target, meant to destroy the navy of the US.
