Whether to watch the history or the video first is a double-edged sword. Watching the history first gives sometimes needed context to the music, but the history also generally includes parts of the song, reducing the initial impact of the music. I have no good answer. Really good song, but I do have an issue with the video; they show what appears to be Civil War troops, a period of time before the Purple Heart Medal was authorized and long after the Badge of Military Merit was forgotten. Interesting factoid; the original song "Nightchild" was written by Par and Joakim when they were drinking and playing video games in the rehearsal room. Neither has any clue what the lyrics mean.
