I,m honestly belive that they aren,t glorifing war, and more honoring deeds like the courage and mercifulness, the fact that some people think that they are (glorifing war) more speaks of their ignorance (unable to find true message) or untolerability ( they so much of coward that any mention of war sends them into panic attack)

I find it very tragic that the old band members are kinda forgotten and same with the album Metalizer. Before they changed the memebers they actually played heavy metal, I hate how Songs like Metal Medley,Purple Heart or Union just don`t get played anymore. Most of the fans who listen to Sabatan just scrape the tip of the Iceberg and don`t know about the otherside of Sabaton before they changed the members in 2012.

War media is all “glorified” by nature of spectical. Humans like spectical, and so even “anti” war movies made by anti war people make “pro” war movies for the 90% of people who’ve never been through war, since the spectical, even of a horrible slaughter like D-day, is digested by the masses as thrilling, since we’re invested in finding out if our main characters survive. The final stand in saving private Ryan is made glorious by their actions leading to the halt of German forces taking back Normandy. The ideologues who are so anti-war to the point of national pacifism as policy are the only group who see “anti war” movies as anti war. To that end they then don’t actually watch “war movies” There’s a French movie out there where soldiers intentionally injure themselves to get out of service, and while it doesn’t have any battles or very much spectacle, it’s more of a drama than anything with WWI as the backdrop, as they’re trying to dodge the service leads to an investigation. Most soldiers roll their eyes at most war movies when they try to be super serious about how bad war is because “war is boring.” And love the cheesy spectacle even more because it’s funny. That one scene in Fury where Brad Pitt’s character forces the new guy to execute a man who’s surrendered is so stupidly unrealistically forced to make a point about how “grim” and inhuman war is, and as such I find it dumb. If you want war media that actually doesn’t “glorify” it, Vet TV has a series out, and it’s mostly that 90% of the time spent out of battle where you’re bored, and doing stupid shit that gets you in trouble with friends… It also has the other 10% of the time where they do combat, but it just sort of “is” combat, without a spin to make it look particularly fun or grim dark.

11:26 Joke aside from talking about WW1 while showing two movies/series about WW2, there are official documentaries of that from the French side during WW1 when they started to mutiny against their generals and the needless slaughter. French soldiers refusing to relief the soldiers stuck in the trenches for example, several of them were even executed for it. IIRC, the documentaries "WW1 Apocalypse" and "WW1 in color" talks about it at great length.

This man's research of sabaton seems to be about as shallow as a puddle of water, otherwise he will find out that they did, even though it's just one song about Japanese history, precisely the battle of shirojama which ended the satsuma rebelion they have also made, song about Sparta that's more than 300 to 400 years from us im pretty sure even the last stand song events are almost 500 years old they also have fantasy song from Tolkien work called shadows about the ringwraiths so if I can pull al this just from my head after years of listening to sabaton and going to concerts etc. you should do far better in your research and next time actually do some.

Find your vid thanks to the algorithm ; great work put into for few views, keep the good work lad ! One detail, if you haven't you should watch "Joyeux Noël ", a 2005 french movie about WWI. Specificaly about the 1914's christmas in trenches were soldiers did a truce for one night, to me this movie do incapsulate some kind of "waiting time". And in its own weird way "See You Up There" do a really good job with the depiction of the treatment of french wwi war veterans, especially the psyche of the Gueules Cassées.

i will say some of the Sabaton songs have pretty weak written lyrics, but that depends more on the sabaton album you listen to, the last Stand and Metalizer come to mind, but i do not agree that most Sabaton songs have weak lyrics, Carolus rex, coat of arms and both of there ww1 albums i would argue have for the most part very strong lyrics, it a bit difficult to define a strong lyrics since some peapol feel like death metal goes to fare and just sounds fake and just loud in order to sound good while other claims that it the hardest and most brutally and meaningful music form ever i would argue Sabaton does not have the most complex lyrics ever with some examples here and there like Stalingrad is of the most complex songs Sabaton has ever done but Stalingrad is not a universally loved tracks despite it being on of the most complex ones, the most loved and memorable sabaton tracks you often see peapol talk about is Carolus Rex, Primo Victoria, The Last Standd and even swedish pagans etc etc, i want to make it clear that lyrics that is more complex do not make it better all the time sometimes simple is more than making it deeply complex and more difficult to write and understand, sometimes a complex lyrics is better but not all the time personly one thing Sabaton has done very well is that they have stuck to their guns and what they are good at despite what others think about them and sabaton is a high-quality band that works hard on their albums and does maybe change some small things here and there but never compromise the core of the music, you always know what you're going to get with sabaton and that is what has allowed them to become on of the most popular metal bands and for my money i argue that most sabaton songs have good lyrics just not the most complex, i disagree that about the claim that Sabaton glorifies war, not every war song has to be depressing or sad all the time in order for it to not glorify war, Do Sabaton have some very heroic uplifting songs that put the situation in a much more positive light yes they do, but listen to a lifetime at war or great war or even Christmas truce there you got so much more sad and brutal songs with much more somber message that is not glorifying war at all, to me it sounds like you have not really listened to most sabaton songs and have only just started listing to them and that is fine but it saying that they glorify war when the have songs that literally do the opposite is not really giving an accurate representation of sabaton at least in my view, i would say sabaton do sometimes maby go over the top in some songs but i would not go as fare as to say glorifying sabaton has its flaws of course but glorifying war is not one of them as much as i would love an album about Rome i think you have to keep in mind that history is a massive and i mean massive subject and as interesting as Rome and ancient Asia is there is a lot more of interesting history than just those two, ancient Egypt, the Napoleonic wars, south american revolution, alexander the great, the 100 years war, naval warfare and that is not even scratching the surface, sabaton has not even covered 1% of all of history yet, sabaton is not going to be able to cover everting it simply to large of a subject but i do agree that sabaton should take something else for there next album, they have made two ww1 albums now, time to go further back
@outcast408713 күн бұрын
I disagree that Sabaton glorify the war. Songs like "The price of a Mile", "Cliffs of Gallipoli", "Fields of Verdun", "The end of the War to end all Wars", those that you've already mentioned yourself, and many others that I can't recall right now - those songs can easily prove it.
