Joakim Broden : The man who plays the piano in a Heavy/Power Metal band. And makes it sounds like the most sad yet epic at the same time. How he does such wonders is a mystery to us all.

Listen to Shostakovich s 7th symphony. That tells of heroism, tragedy, victory and desperation in one musical piece. But it shows what Leningraders fought and died for. It’s basically one big middle finger to army group north and to all of fascism. They play even though they are dying.

It's absolutely astonishing how much better this live version sounds than the studio version. Feels much more emotional and the volume mixing is MUCH more balanced than the studio version. I'd buy a full priced album with just this version of the song as a studio quality recording.

Here I am standing, darkness all around. Thinking of past, taken my last breath, the air is cold as ice No one close to hear my voice Did not leave me with a choice Heaven will you wait for me? Will I find a way, will I find a place Will you let me go in peace Will I find a way to the other side. Sad are memories from the life I lived Cannot go on, cannot go further I has to end right here For the things that I have done All the girls I lost and won Let me rest in peace at last Will I find a way, will I find a place Will you let me go in peace Leave behind those dark days No I ask again will you hear…

While the studio version is still good to listen to sometimes, a re-recording with Joakim's modern vocals and good mixing would be SO much better.
@zsjb_3 жыл бұрын
They should do it with a lot of older songs, maybe let Chris and Tommy redo the solos on some of them, burn your crosses instantly comes to mind as a good song that is ruined by the mix (and juvenile lyrics)

Tbh I prefered his more serene version of this song, the studio made one. Personally I think that it has a deeper feel than this one. Not to be killed by sabaton psycho fans - I still listen to every single song of theirs, I love their work and the knowledge they bring, but I would love to hear this song with his calm voice...just for this one song.
