I am from Sumy, Ukraine. And I think I will remember a moment from that war forever. When electricity was gone for a very long time, and I was lying on a couch in my headphones with my phone at about 12% charge hoping that it'll last until lights will go back on, and I was listening to that song. Just when I thought that there was no hope for electricity today, and it will probably go on only tomorrow. But the lights went back on right at the moment that song started playing! I had a feeling that I can't really explain. I felt happiness because of the lights, sadness because of the war, and now I guess I will remember this song for that moment forever. This song feels like a story, one of a civillian watching an army march through their town, and walks up to the soldiers and starts to ask about them. They tell the civillian of their wars, their highest and lowest moments, the deaths and the bonds forged and severed by fire, before they reach the edge of the path that exits the town. The civillian stays behind, watching them slowly march away as they sing and cheer, slowly getting quieter and quieter.. I love it.

All I can say is that just like other of their songs, Sabaton succeeded in telling a story of war exposing the frail nature of mankind and its tendencies towards voilence. This is a masterpiece and deserves all accolades. Truly, at the point of death, nothing else matters: the poor, the rich, the weak, the powerful, etc all lie side by side in death and all of life is but Nothingness! May we embrace the peace that comes to us daily and strive to live in harmony with everyone. May there be peace in Ukraine and Russia and every other waring places and places plagued by insurgency and terrorism and warfare. Love and peace from Nigeria 🇳🇬

I was playing as the Netherlands in Europa universalis iv. I was waging a truly savage war against Spain when this song started playing. Dear god, what have i done was all i could say when i looked at all the death and destruction i caused. I immediately signed a generous peace deal.

"It's an incredibly great song by Sabaton! I'm from Indonesia. This song is really good, and the lyrics 'Religion and greed cause millions to bleed' depict that religion has been used by certain people to achieve their goals and create wars. The religion that should bring peace has been tainted. Hopefully, in the future, Sabaton can hold a concert in Indonesia, if possible in my city, Yogyakarta."

Lying in bed, back against the wall, crossed arms, closed eyes & headphones on. The light off, music running on and overthinking everything that is happening into your life. All your judgy thoughts running like an unstopable machine. Realising you care too much about people who you even aren't inside their mind, ready to give 100% but won't receive a single 20%. Late at night wondering if you should cut off & take care of your mental health or still be there to care for people who won't do the same, cause such a great heart as yours is rarely able to be found. Is not your loss when you are trying hard and end up in dust, is not your fault having a heart with endless love... but chose wisely who you give that love cause note everyone is ready to hold it. Maybe they'll look back one day & say: "he was different, now we losed him" but nothing is guaranteed in this life. Head up King, you got this. Move forward. - Random dude from the Internet.

With some slight modification, this song can be THE anti-war anthem. Wars should exist only in works of fiction, not reality. Thank you, Sabaton, for using your talent and time to spread awareness and pique our interest of history.

"Religion and greed, cause millions to bleed " truer words have never been spoken..
@Aceshot-uu7yx2 жыл бұрын
True but to be fair to religion that greed usually disguises itself in the guise of religion. In truth thought the conflict stopped being about religion after that first decade as France and Spain tried to build their power after Sweden and Germany were tiring from the conflict. Religion can start problems but greed is infinity more powerful. The soviet union under Stalin and Lenin with millions killed can show that. At first it was ideology but then became truly despotic and worse as it went on. Religion itself does little, it was the catholic church losing power and protestants sementing themselves in a time of revival. It truly broke down into a power struggle after that first decade with it becoming obvious it lost its original meaning or purpose. The parallels with the Russian Civil War are stark, two ideologies clashing,which to an outsider seem the same but when studied deeper show strong differences, fighting each other and causing untold suffering. The only diffrence is we know Stalin and Lenin combined killed a great deal more people then these kings and queens did.
