So KZbin actually demonetized my first video from Russia, saying that it was "violent". Blyat. I have absolutely no idea how a casual vlog walking around is "violent", and I'm worried they may do that to this entire series. @@ExVeritateLibertas What was stupid about that. He was correct. The war started in 2014 when the US stages the coup that removed democracy and installed a a Nazi influences extremist regime and for 8 years stages a war on the civilians in the east of Ukraine the was loyal their deposed last elected centrist government. After that Donbas region had been under attack 8 years it declared independence and asked Russia for protection. Only in 2022 did Russia respond after that region was free from Kiev rule and entered to protect the civilians there. Russia followed international law and went in with a very limited force under the status of SMO, special military operation with a very limited and legal objective. You seem to not understand the reality of the US coup and take over by the extremists. The deposed president was a centrist who was the last free election Ukraine had. U know both Russia and Ukraine VERY well and was present before the coup and after the Nazi gangs started terrorizing anyone who spoke Russia which was the dominate language of media, books, movies, and 90% of the books in the library. Ukrainian is a asmaller vocabulary dielect of Russian with some Rumanian and Polish words added..The change was like the Hells Angels biker group took control of street with roving band of 4-7 well harmed thugs, most with Nazi tattoes on the faces, searching for anyone speaking Russian and robbing and killing them much of the time. The main street of Kiev had 10-`15 meter tall Nazi banners hanging from the government buildings. At least 16,000 people were murdered because they spoke the traditional national language. Americans are totally ignorant of the facts and believe Russia, out of the blue just invaded peaceful Ukraine and the US embassy was just a passive observer. But than again Americans do not know that since 1950 created 202 wars, and regime changes and murdered over 30,000,000 people who did nothing to the US. The Russian Federation started no wars but finished a couple.

Your travel videos are among the best that currently exist because you are giving me the exact experience I would have going there, plus you have a wealth of knowledge and languages you speak. Ancestors of Tatars are Idel(Volga) Bulgars. They were Turkic of Oghur branch. But modern Tatars speak Kypchak branch of Turkic. Leader of Idel Bulgars Almysh Khan was first ever Turkic ruler converted to islam in 922. At the time majority of Turkic people were Tengri(Shamanism) believers. You can read this in Ibn Fadlans journey book.

This is actually false. The Mongols did not bring Islam to the Tatars, the Mongols started in 13th century. Islam in Tatarstan existed prior to the tenth century, but it began major growth in 922, when Bulgar ruler Almış converted to Islam. This was followed by an increase in missionary activity in Volga Bulgaria. Islam remained the dominant religion through the Mongol invasion and subsequent Khanate of Kazan. What the Mongol empire contributed is that the language once spoken in Tatarstan was Bulgar, an Oghuric language, and since the Golden Horde, it transition from Oghuric language to Kipchak languages. Now the Kipchak languages evolved into Tatar, Kazakh, Kyrgyz and other Kipchak languages today. The only surviving Oghuric language is Chuvash. So basically, the Golden Horde caused a transition from Oghuric language to Kipchak language in the 13th to 14th century.

There's a lot to say about these videos, a comment might not be the best place. I don't much like the idea of more people travelling to Russia at this time (though there aren't likely to be a wave admittedly). But these videos demonstrate the simple human truth that people in countries at war are still people going about their ordinary lives, and dehumanizing either side in a conflict is never right. May everyone be free from hatred and suffering and may peace arrive soon. Thanks Tommy
@NYoung-lq5usАй бұрын
Don't try to speak on behalf of Russians as if they're innocent, please. They have an army of over 1 million soldiers that are choosing to take a paycheck in order to kill Ukrainians. These people have families and friends that support them and choose blood money. Just like "regular" Russians in the big cities who either support Putin, who don't care what he does as long as their materialistic needs are met, or are too cowardly to do anything to protest against him. Watch the channel 1420 to listen to street interviews if you want to see the story of real Russians. Not this Disneyland version of Russia that Tommy is promoting for clicks.
@JoolsUKАй бұрын
If you ever watch bald and bankrupt you will have seen his encounters as a Russian speaker with Russians and Ukrainians. Regular people. But will blindly follow their leader. Democracy gives people a chance to expel despots. That is a key difference.
