We risk chaos in schools-Grade R readiness, language access, and contentious clauses demand groundwork first. The DA stands for governance that works, not governance for show. I think we should secure the process before celebrating the policy.

What Grade R readiness are you talking about? Grade R has always been ready to accept children; the issue has mainly been about administration and shifting responsibility from Social Development to the Department of Basic Education (DBE). I’m 26 now, and I went to Grade R in a public school, as did everyone I know. The capacity has always been there, and it still is today. The focus should be on streamlining processes, not creating an illusion of a lack of readiness.

The act once it is signed- it is a law. Courts are instituted to interpret the law- with or without regulations, norms and standards. January, school should have a quota of language that can be used to exclude a child admission- a first come first serve policy will have to apply. We can now empty private schools - and secure children a stable learning environment and relief from inflated private school fees.

She essentially stole the education system from whites and created liberal indoctrination chambers out of schools using the ANC manifesto and freedom charter! The schools act of 96’ needs to be done away with, SGBs needs to cleared out and the DA ANC members to be ejected from that are clogging the pipes! If I go to Cape Town University I know their lectures will be in English. I can not ask them to change their language to suit me. So when a Xhosa or whatever language a child speaks, why must the school change its language to suit the child. There are many black and coloured children in Afrikaans schools where they adapt gracefully, speaking Afrikaans. This has nothing to do with racism, but rather culture.
