They also stopped the exploration and development of known gas fields offshore at Mossel Bay and West coast. Recall the Nuclear hullabaloo "Asiyifuni i Nuclear" - SASOL built a R1 Trillion coal to fuel plant in the US, because they did not have confidence in South Africa's coal industry (when SA has 400 year coal reserves).

Did I misunderstand something, or was nothing explicit said? The gas that is presently flowing to our industries and homes is going to be switched off in 2026. Where is it going? Electricity generation for Eskom? Surely it is better for the country if the existing gas reticulation network continues as it is and that imported bulk supplies are delivered in a dedicated manner directly in bulk to Eskom?
