I only watch Forged In Fire and Oak Island on History. Well, and some Ancient Aliens I have to agree, but the reason I'll let those three shows pass is they still in SOME way touch on history. (even if some do a bit too much speculation at times) Blacksmithing is an ancient trade, and they always have to re-make a historical weapon at the end, besides they talk about the history of said weapon, AND some of the smiths still do it the old way, and talk about these processes. Otherwise, a competition-type show wouldn't ever make my list of "history" Sorry if I sound stupid here... just my opinion Also, might I recommend Travel Channel? There's a lot of historical stuff on that, especially Mysteries at the Museum!

@@star_lord1431 Yeah but it was very long ago. Back when I was a small child, I remembered seeing World War I documentaries, Cival War documentaries and other shows related to history on the channel. It gradually started showing less history content as time went on. I can't exactly pin point when the history stuff was no longer airing I just know eventually the channel went from cool history stuff to the channel where random content is dropped.

This is so depressing. I remember when I first moved into America, it was Cartoon Network shows that helped me develop my English. They had a plethora of shows and because they helped me hone my communication skills and help express myself in a new world essentially, these shows meant a lot to me. It's a goddamn shame to see what Cartoon Network has become, but I'll never forget the golden days.

It makes sense why Nickelodeon loves SpongeBob so much. SpongeBob, despite seasons 4-8 being absolute garbage, is one of the most amazing cartoons ever created. Nickelodeon milked the show like crazy because it had such a huge fanbase and still to this day, is popular among kids and adults. Teen Titans Go on the other hand, is only popular among kids, while many older audiences (especially fans of the original series) tear the show apart like crazy.

Adventure Time used to usually have above 30 episodes a season, sometimes above 40, and for the finale of the series, they cropped down the last 3 to barely 15 each. This utterly breaks my heart.

Boomerang is having a similar problem. This is probably old news but Boomerang now just shows only three classic cartoons, which is Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, and Scooby Doo (UGH). The rest is just rejected cartoons that couldn't make it to CN's schedule, like PPG (2016) and My Knight and Me (yeah, remember that?). It's kinda sad and annoying, because I remember Boomerang was a place for 10 year old me to watch Yogi Bear at 9 PM and much more. It's depressing, since I loved that channel for what it was.

Many of the cartoons, at least as far as CN is concerned, are animated by people who come from the same school of animation. That could explain why so many of these cartoons have a homogenized look and feel to them.

av4d I think it depends. On this network, that seems to be the case. But on others? Not really. Within the last few years or so there are great shows being made on this network and others such as Steven Universe, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Star Vs, Bojack Horseman, Bob's Burgers; the Samurai Jack, Ducktales and Voltron reboots, etc. I think saying that "All cartoons such now" is not seeing the forest for the trees.

This is getting god damn ridiculous. 2017 is pretty much the start of a second dark age for Cartoon Network and I feel like it's actually going to be worse than the first dark age of the channel back in 2007-2012. Yeah there was a lot of awful live-action crap but at least there was MORE variety in the tv schedule. If they don't fix this problem in 2018 then Cartoon Network is pretty much dead.

THE CARTOON NETWORK PROBLEM. isn't only a cartoon network problem, it seems to be a problem with a lot of networks. If I would get a dime for every time I see Friends on a 6 or more episode marathon on multiple networks, I would be able to get an alienware computer. It seems like a running theme on TV. Instead of diverse programming during the day. Nah let's put a show on max. If TV is dying, it isn't just the internet's fault, it's the network's fault.

Full agreement. With the exception of the marathons, which is more of an issue with CN specifically, it seems nearly all of cable is just as much at fault with spamming one or two shows. Even Disney XD, which people constantly point to as having a good schedule, mostly runs Phineas and Ferb and Gravity Falls, both of which are ended shows and the latter only has 40 episodes.

Daytime/early evening syndication. Original programming is only aired at peak times at the peak times of year because it's expensive. My final thoughts on Teen Titans Go: If you want to make a comedy Cartoon, then don't use characters that are supposed to be superheroes for teenagers. I do like the fact that the superpowers have an effect on their comedy, but the superpowers are supposed to make them *cool*, not some pizza-eating freak show that is on the verge of becoming a meme. I actually love the kind of comedy they're going for: a group that acts like kids and have strange quirks that make them funny. In fact, this is just like Adventure Time and Regular Show. But Warner Bros is trying way too hard to push a joke inside, trying to grab as many laughs as possible and calling it a video. I have to admit even Teen Titans Go used to be really good, and I'm not kidding, they used to nail comedy just right. But now, the jokes are becoming too predictable and bland; what used to be called irony is now just an excuse for a plot point. Perhaps they could have swapped this kind of theme to a new show; but not Teen Titans. I loved Teen Titans GO because of how exclusive it used to be. But now, Cartoon Network's like, "Hey, look, you like Teen Titans Go? Let's cram it down your throat 'till you bleed!" and because of the little pieces of fun and games sprinkled throughout. But now, the creators are acting like they are out of ideas, and are trying to pull any concept for an episode out onto the rug for a win. There. Those are my thoughts. You know what's funny? Pluto TV's "After School Cartoons" and "Kids TV" have more variety than the Cartoon Network. And they don't run that many shows (for the record, you're more likely to see "Inspector Gadget (1985)" on "Kids TV" during weekends due to the high episode count, but "Super Dave" is the least ran show on "After School Cartoons"). The only way their audience could increase is make everything free at this point, which I don't think they'll do. Kinda doesn't help when Turner (Cartoon Network's parent)'s news outlet (CNN) is getting slammed as "Fake News".

It's pretty much impossible to watch CN outside of Saturday, where there is like an hour of Gumball and an hour of We Bare Bears. Outside of those two hours, TTG. Over and over. Meanwhile, Disney's been showing Gravity Falls in the afternoons, aired a Milo Murphy's Law marathon a few days ago on XD, marathoned Star vs The Forces of Evil yesterday, and today (and I'm watching this now out of nostalgia) decided to air Suite Life On Deck. The board at Disney certainly knows better than the one at CN. To be fair, looking at recent air schedules, they do dedicate a lot to TTG, but they do show other shows during times when kids aren't going to be watching. It's still a big plurality biased toward TTG overall though.

The one thing that annoys the shit out of me is that Cartoon Network forgot what the purpose of Boomerang was. It was where old Hanna-Barbera cartoons went to be aired instead of being on the main channel. Now it's become the Disney XD of Cartoon network. I don't see any old school cartoons like The Jetsons, The Flintstones, old Scooby Doo, or Top Cat anymore. Or even newer but still older cartoons like Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Chowder, Kanto-Sinnoh Pokemon, Camp Lazlo, Billy and Mandy, and so forth. The only things I see there now are Looney Toons (in the middle of the night), New Scooby Doo, New Tom and Jerry, New Powerpuff Girls, New Ben 10, Uncle Grandpa, and a few shows I never knew existed. Cartoon Network doesn't know what to do with themselves anymore.

I not sure I can compare Disney XD with Boomerang. As far as I'm concerned, the former was made to be a home for shows geared towards a male audience (As a possoble contrast to the main channel that leaned more on shows aimed at girls) but lately it is becoming obvious that it is being now used mostly as a hub for a large part of their animated content aimed at a older audience. It should also be pointed out that the censors are probably a little more toned down in comparison, so there's probably a bit more space for creative liberties that aren't available on the main channel.

CN doensn't want kids gluing their eyes to the TV whenever they are at home! They want kids gluing their eyes to mobile devices! Wherever they go! Back in the old days, if kids had to go somewhere (like lets say to visit family for the holidays, hours away like I have to), they wouldn't be able to watch CN for hours if it was a TV (because no TV while traveling). With mobile devices, kids can literally watch tv shows _everywhere, anytime._ No more observing your surroundings or speaking to the family during those precious moments the kids are away from the TV, now they can watch christmas specials while in the car or in public places.

To see a channel that I grew up watching become so dull and stoop so low to this point is really disheartening. I more so pity the younger generation that are actually watching CN and are not experiencing the same level of entertainment and quality we did growing up, plus the creators on this network who are trying to succeed with their shows. It really isn't even about people like me anymore. I said the same thing about Toonami, as much as I loved Toonami growing up, it doesn't serve the same purpose to me anymore. I don't need to watch Toonami because I'm already an anime fan that has seen most of the shows they're showing in dub anyway and the younger generation won't see Toonami because it comes on at midnight on a Saturday/Sunday. You know the reason why so many people don't watch TV anymore, because it's garbage now. There's no innovation, no variety and no concern about execution or quality, why would I not stop watching TV? This didn't happen overnight either, it was a gradual process of being disinterested and disappointing with television as a whole that has led me to this point. I guess the number one mistake that most of the people who are mad about this schedule make is that we still care....maybe it's time we move on and put CN to the side, because clearly things aren't going to change any time soon….

Cartoon network is like what Nickelodeon was like with "Spongebob" a while back, but now Nickelodeon has grown up a bit and is taking risk, step by step. BUT now it's Cartoon network's turn. Will they just lean back on "Teen Titans Go" forever to their channels demise OR will they follow big brother Nickelodeon's footsteps and test the waters while taking a huge risk? Guys, this is why you don't rely on something for long periods of time without trying to find some substitute or other filling. Because after a while it's no longer by choice that you have it, but now for the sake of everything. Now big steps need to be made, this is a dangerous situation they are in. What happens when those kids just don't like T.T.G anymore and stop watching the channels all together since it is now the Teen Titans Go cartoon channel? Will they for huge production of T.T.G like rapid fire not caring about the quality, or will they try and reach back to old fans who have also turned their heads and washed their hands of the matter? I miss all the GREAT and INSPIRING cartoons that came from the channel, that promoted imagination! It introduced little me to different art styles when I was little. I mean does "Flapjack" look anything like "Ed Edd n Eddy"? Does "Foster home for imaginary friends" look like "Chowder"? Does "My gym partners a monkey" look like "Camp lazlo" or "Kids next door" OR "Dexter's Laboratory" how about "Powerpuff girls", "Samurai Jack"??? And do ANY of these shows have the EXACT type of story progression? Or even plot? So many different stories were out there! THERE WAS SOMETHING AND I MEAN SOMETHING! For any and everyone! All these shows AND MORE are so close to my heart, just as much as some of the new shows that are on the app. But I miss the HUGE imagination. Now this channels caters to one specific generation/ types of kids. Channels should be for a wide demographic! Not one specific type of generation! It saddens me so SO SO much to see Cartoon Network slowly but surely wither away like this, there is so much they can do to fix this they just need to peel their eyes off of the profit making lucrative business of one cartoon and TAKE RISKS! Yes it's scary, but so is depending on one thing right? Hopefully Cartoon Network makes a move soon, and hopefully it will be something that really helps them and isn't short lived like a new "Teen Titans Go" holiday special. The biggest reason I don't even use their app is because i dont have cable and therefore cannot input my cable information for the app to "unlock" the videos. It's the biggest reason I watch the shows from other sources that host them and Im not the only one. Even if my family still HAD cable i wouldn't watch the channel just because of all the TTG and then i wouldn't watch on the app just out of principle. They're alienating and dividing their viewer base when they don't need to and they're too pigheaded to see that. CN will not change anytime soon and I doubt it ever will. it's a sinking ship of a network and if they haven't yet figured out yet why they need to change and how to do it, even WITH all the online videos of consumers telling CN what they want, then they deserve to sink.

The whole reason I risk going to pirating sites is so that I can stream older cartoons because the paid services often times don't have them or skip seasons of certain shows for reasons I don't understand. (I'm talking OLD old, like original Voltron and Hanna Barbera series old) I know dvds exist but a lot of them are "best of" or "holiday" compilations that skip around with episodes and don't show full seasons. (Some of them even get censored which is kind of infuriating because I expect the full/original version of a show when I deign to buy a dvd of it.)

This isn't happening in Latin America. We do get a lot of Teen Titans GO, but not THAT much. In a normal day, it is aired aroud 3 or 4 times a day for only an hour. Then they air We Bear Bears, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Gumball and Regular Show. Hell, even Dragon Ball Super got a spanish dub recently, and it's airing as well. However, those are always reruns of the previous season of said show. The newest seasons are aired like once or twice. And the older seasons aren't aired as well. Kinda sad to not be able to watch the fisrt episodes, or to wait months for a rerun of the newest ones. And well... Teen Titans GO is still airing more than other shows, and kids really love it (I don't freaking know why. it's so lame and stupid (though I enjoyed the forth wall episode)) I hope they bring adult swim and toonami back to Latam. I think new Dragon Ball Super episodes air on Saturday night, which is natural (I don't know if it's only one new episode or more, because they air like 4 episodes every Saturday but I'm not following the series, so I wouldn't know; SAP audio is the original Japanese which is awesome!), and it's not only Super every night, it's Dragon Ball Z Kai too. I'm not just talking about the season's animation. The problem with it is its cast of new characters, it slipshod decision to "make new forms" for the already existing Pokemon and the so-called "comedy." The thing I've long hated about the "humor" in the show is that it consists of three things. 1. the whiny/crabby/obnoxious female leads (except for Dawn) 2. Having Pikachu shock Ash and Co. for no reason and/or 3. Having Ash get beaten down (figuratively or literally) by one of his friends. In this season, it's that a-hole with the red shorts that does the beating. All because he's obsessed with Z Crystals. In closing; since Diamond and Pearl's conclusion (the only good season of the show.) Pokemon has been officially dead, in my eyes

Most things I watch are on KZbin these days. Or Kiss/KimCartoon. From old shows, to fandom content, or independent shows.I haven't looked at an actual television in over a decade. All I ever see on any TV schedule is TTG, Spongebob, reality shows, court shows, jerry springer type shows, or biased partisan political news. And I'm sick of all of that.

Two: They just passed up the pilot for Twelve Forever, which was, instead, picked up by Netflix. I saw the pilot to Twelve Forever, and it was actually pretty solid.

Good god. I can't believe the fact that television is dying. People nowadays just stay on there phones and watch stuff on there. And i miss the old days, back when television was actually good. Now i don't bother watching tv anymore because most of the stuff on tv nowadays just suck. So yea, I hate teen titans go. The show is stupid. The plot and storys and characters and just everything about the show is just a big spit in the face to the original show that was at least a pretty cool and poplar show. Now kids apparently think stupid jokes and fart jokes and just any dumb joke u can think of is "funny". Teen titans go is a perfect example on how most cartoons are nowadays. Stupid, uncreative, lazy, and unwatchable to people like me who grew up with awsome and memorable cartoons. One day, when teen titans go gets the death it deserves, it will be good riddance.

I remember saying to my friends in highschool that I believed phones could replace cable TV. I got some crazy looks, but I knew I was right. My TV has basically turned into an oversized, dusty paper weight. I watch nothing but youtube, read, and play the Sims. You can pretty much do stuff through your laptop and smartphones; it's what I do now.

I don't really watch Cartoon Network but, I mostly watch We Bare Bears, Steven Universe, OKKO, Adventure Time, Regular Show, and The Amazing World Of Gumball. I have this television channel with anime and some nursery song for babies. I mostly watch that channel because *I LOVE ANIME* I just *WISH* Pokèmon was back on Cartoon Network. Gotta catch em' all! By the way, the Cartoon Network over here where I live has less Teen Titans Go. It has more We Bare Bears and Steven Universe. Well, I don't really think it's *ALL* about We Bare Bears and Steven Universe. It has more variety. It doesn't have the old cartoons though. It does have the new Ben 10 and Power Puff Girls. TV's dying because Cable is dying due to it's outrageous prices with the loyalties and over priced packages they try to shell out to everyone. If Cable wasn't so expensive, Tv would still be booming. Sure there's still people who do have TV but not a lot. Most people can't afford Cable (me and my family included) to where they just pay for internet and get all their viewing services through that because it's less expensive than getting all these dumb bundles that just rack up your bill and drain your wallet each month.

Anyone who works with kids will tell you, they eat this stuff up. Not all of them but I work at a Boys & Girls Club, about 95% of the kids there who has access to Cartoon Network or a way to watch their content, loves Teen Titans Go. I didn't think it had an audience before I started working there but I not only realized how much the kids there love it but just kids I pass when I'm out & about. My friends & I have a tradition of going to Pizza Schmizza during a midnight release of a Pokemon game since it's located across the parking lot from GameStop, it's a nice location with a large selection of drinks, including my favorite, Fufu Berry Jones Soda, & a bar connected to the restaurant. There's a TV there, during the release of Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, the TV was playing Teen Titans Go & there were about ten kids surrounding it. As for how the History Channel is actually doing better than Cartoon Network, I'm 26 & still live with my parents.... yeah, making money is rough when the only place that will hire you is desperate to find help & the one I work at in particular has a bad reputation, my first day there one kid kicked another in the head just because he lost a game & that's not even the worst thing that happened, it's hard moving out & living on your own during these times, alright? It's just my location that has a bad reputation by the way, there's been some stuff that happened there that made it to the news. Anyways, living at home, I'm aware of what my parents watch on TV. For my mom she likes the movie channels, I swear if she watches Pitch Perfect one more time, that TV is being thrown out the window & being smashed into little tiny pieces!!!!! For my dad, if he's not watching CNN, it's the History Channel. Yeah, this is torture, if I could move out, I would in a heartbeat. Actually, I did but besides my roommate having to take on three jobs to pay rent & go to school (I still have no idea how she was able to do that), the apartment building we were at raised the rent even more & we could hardly pay it off as it was. The coffee cart I was working at went under & once our lease was up, we wound up having to move back in with our parents. I know Cartoon Network does take some of the blame here but seriously feels like society itself is screwed up. I know a lot of people who can barely get by, even people who went to college. There's this woman I met at Macy's, she was talking about how she graduated college & her degrees & this stuff, I don't remember a lot of it since this was last holiday season & there was a lot going on at the time but she thought she'd be able to get a job in what she went to school for but no, nobody in her field wanted to hire new grads so she was stuck working at Macy's. Things are screwed up, a lot of stuff for television networks is obvious for the stuff you stated & I know you've gone through those reasons before & so on so I won't go into it more. Just, I don't know where any of this is heading, sounds weird & makes me look crazy (I actually am crazy but that's beside the point) but Cartoon Network constantly running Teen Titans Go is a sign of some much worse stuff going on, not saying it's a sign of the apocalypse or anything but there's a lot happening. Many businesses are going under or just are not doing well all together, that's another thing that's going on. I'm not only scared about the future of programming but afraid of the future all together. Maybe I don't need to worry but it's Christmas Eve & we're actually getting snow so I'm gonna sip on a hot cup of tea, hit by the vent spewing hot air, & watch it come down, enjoy the positive things in life so I have something good to look back on if times do get worse.

I seem to find among my generation that it's not that we're lazy and don't want to work, it's just that there's no flipping jobs to find, and where you can get them they insist you have so many years experience that folks at my age simply can't have. I know only 1 person my age who was able to find a job, and she only got in because her older brother works there! And I live in a major city in my country! I'm extremely worried about the future too, economically speaking. I just don't see how someone like me will be able to survive the next 10 years in general. I don't see how my friends will be able to get by, even with their degrees. Really, the only folks who are doing well at the moment are the ones who were born into well-off families (although that's not their fault, I don't blame them for that - I'm just pointing it out). And on a macro level, lots if not most of the small businesses around me are closing down, loads of places in town are just *empty*, we can't leave the city because rent elsewhere's too high and we haven't a hope to pay for it with our family's income, there's no jobs that aren't either 1) backbreaking labour in a factory that has hours averaging from 8pm-11am-ish at least 5 days a week or 2) backbreaking labour in the fields that also have long work hours in blazing heat that won't hire you because you're not local or 3) working at the worst international companies who treat all their employees like crap (there's been a major stink in my city recently because it was revealed just how terrible the work conditions are at some of the main food chains and people were horrified. No change was achieved, unfortunately. Even more unfortunately, they tend to be those places that the poor/disadvantaged have to work, and all that entails). And even with THOSE you're insanely lucky if you manage to be one of the few they employ. It's a nightmare. I went to an actual job agency - multiple job agencies! - and worked with them for months but they couldn't get me anything either... but then, I think that's a story for another day. But then again that might just be the depression talking lol. Sorry if this is rambling, I just kinda wanted to say you aren't alone in your fears?... Idk, most of my circle feels the same way. Our life goals at the moment amount to "get a job, move out", and even that seems like an impossible far-off ideal. I mean, even benefits don't cover the cost of living, lmao. Sorry again for the rant, it's 2am-ish.

You're totally right, it's like that for people here too & it sucks. I'm lucky that my family is like totally right in the middle when it comes to middle class. Definitely not upper middle class, I have a friend there & boy, his house is nice but we're probably closer to that level than we are the lower middle. I'm just thankful that my parents are fine with me living with them until I can actually start earning real money. Not sure where I'm heading really, my mind gets changed on the career I want every day so it's not like I'd try to land on something I'd have to sell my soul to the devil to afford an education on since I might end up changing my mind like two weeks after I start school. I'm extremely fortunate that I was able to find a place where I can gain experience & that I'm living somewhere with a very low rent, being my parent's place it's not entirely ideal but it's something. I have a friend who is far worse off than I am since she's pretty much lower lower middle class & it's hard for her to get out there & get the experience she needs to get a job. She's getting by, living with her parents & doing art commissions but outside of that, she doesn't feel like she would ever be able to get a job with steady enough income to support herself given the state of things today. People with the proper education can't get hired, it's insane.

I actually have ideas for Cartoon Network for how they can fix themselves! *Focus on Mao Mao again and give it more seasons (hopefully more then 3) *Give We Bare Bears one last season (We Baby Bears does not count) *Bring back (as in reboot or revive) Hanna Barbara/Warner shows (such as Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, Speed Buggy, etc) *Make some more female lead cartoons *If they want to reboot a show again, make sure it’s good and not a sucker for modern cancel culture junk *Bring back Infinity Train for the last four books we need *Recognize that media are not only for little preschoolers or mature rated adults, there are shows for between ages too (and normally they're the best because they can be enjoyed by all ages) *Bring back the 2003 Teen Titans *Make Galactic Kids Next Door happen *CANCEL TEEN TITANS GO ALREADY! *Most importantly bring back the CN city bumpers and music videos, and make some with the recent characters *minor note fix Boomerang, put back the cool toy bumpers and focus on the classic vintage shows
