One thing that I don't see a lot of people talk about is how this ep was an even more perfect closure for V's character then ep 6. Her sacrifice was already amazing, from being a cold-oiled, psychophatic murder to saving the others and trusting Uzi for the first time. But know we now that she never told N anything so that Cyn leaves her and N alone and she always cared about him. She finally apologizes for that and her interactions with Uzi and N show how their realtionship has grown. V saying "bite me" means a lot. ❤️

The E6 would be an absolutely awful way to end her character. She just caught a bullet and won a 1v1 against the red sentinel, but then she stood doing nothing for almost 20 seconds because the creators couldn't sacrifice her properly. This just ruined the whole scene for me. There was a similar issue with J squatting awkwardly for ages when N was looking at the branded pen in Episode 1, but that was the pilot so that's excusable and it didn't result in the best character sacrificing themselves.

@@studior2962 They did a lot with very little runtime. Sadly we didn't even get an V-N hug. The ideal scenario imo would be V finally feeling comfortable enough to break down crying in N's arms, apologizing and explaining everything, but that wouldn't really fit into the episode and the ship they went with.

I believe it’s because we don’t know how many days or months have been passed between each episodes in the series timeline. Therefore, if in episode 3 Uzi activated her Solver powers out of reflexive defense, while in the next episode she already knows how to use them, it must mean that she took her time to learn to control them to some extent (and how maybe she started to eat already deceased robots offscreen, but it’s just a theory, and I digress).

The big issue with murder drones is that the pacing is breakneck. They could've done with 1-2 more episodes with the characters winding down or informing each other what they learned. The biggest problem is that a lot of what the characters learn they tell the other characters off screen and that is what hurts the pacing imo.

Yeah, it always feels like a lot happened off screen between episodes. I also feel like tons of new info is communicated to the viewer but only once and kinda vaguely. I think it is a bit interesting (If the fandom is correct), that the Doorman women find their soulmates. In one episode Nori said that she was crazy to fall in love with Kahn. In the last episode she saved Kahn's life without thinking. Tried her best to distance herself from him, only to run away screaming as if it was the worst decision in her life. Kahn still found her hot. Next time we see them together they are being the embarrassing parents trope.

The Absolute Solver is some sort of eldritch entity from the void that calls itself "The Solver of The Absolute Fabric, the Void, the Exponential End" when N tried to call it Cyn in Episode 5. We see the Solver first contact the drone that Tessa would later find and name Cyn in the dumps under a pile of Worker Drone corpses at the start of Ep 5. The Solver subsumed that drone after they accepted the offer from the Solver and let the entity inside, giving it an entrypoint to manifest with Cyn as the main host and vessel. In oversimplified terms, Cyn IS the Absolute Solver. Cyn is the name that Tessa gave that drone after the Solver took it as its first host and vessel. The Solver's nature is left purposefully vague and up to interpretation - as it is an eldritch horror after all. The Solver's overall goals is to consume and end the universe, but it also demonstrates wanting to entertain itself by playing with its "cute puppets".

@nataliecoronado4206 3 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure Absolute Solver isn't an entity, at least not the way you're describing it. To the best of my understanding, it was a self-learning program that was installed in the Worker Drones, a way for them to solve problems on their own without need for human input in order for the workers to be more efficient in their jobs. Cyn's version of the program became corrupted after she was improperly disposed of, evolving at such a rapid pace that before long it gained sentience and managed to decipher the laws of reality itself. Figuring out how to bend them to its will and using this new power to perform feats of mass destruction on an unimaginable scale. Because Cyn is the original host of the Solver, it developed its personality around her and the two combined to become an extremely dangerous and destructive AI. The Absolute Solver isn't something necessarily alive because at it's core, it's a corrupted learning algorithm. Nothing more than some ones and zeroes in the wrong place here and there, with that tiny error spiraling massively out of control. But at the same time, it is such an hyper-advanced and malicious artificial intelligence that it may as well be a living eldritch entity. And that's genuinely something even more terrifying.
@brightbulb1647
@brightbulb1647 3 ай бұрын
@@nataliecoronado4206 Don't really agree with this at all. We are told the Absolute Solver manifests within Worker Drone AI, using the AI as its host to come in through. We see the Absolute Solver is related to the Singularity / voids / black holes in the show, and its influence is presented through them. We see the Absolute Solver contact and convince the newly awakened Zombie Drone that would later be called Cyn into letting the entity inside. Also, Nori's notes that she presents to N (and the viewer) in Ep 7 pretty much disproves your notion as well. "The Entity of previous pages purged files from my memory." "It's sent something to eliminate the other hosts." ("Pets", Disassembly Drones) "Puppet hosts with a nerfed version of the Entity - ensures control" (Disassembly Drones are hosts of the Solver, but are restricted) Also a lot of what you said isn't based on anything in the show in particular. It's fine to think how you want, but I don't believe that what is shown in the show supports your interptetation.

Honestly, my biggest gripe with this show doesn't have anything to do with the lore or the pacing, it's the fact that they waited until literally the last two episodes to tell us we were only getting one season. Considering _Digital Circus_ was already out by then and getting the kind of views in the span of an hour that _Murder Drones_ needed at least a week to catch up to, I really can't blame the tinfoil hat conspirators for thinking Glitch prematurely axed it so they could invest all their funds in the show that was making them more money.

I'll agree, it's a very "Deep and Rich" show. Even if you're paying attention, there's always something to tease out about it. But that's the rewarding thing, there's enough emotional weight behind what's happened that once you reach episode 8, it's a case of "Ah! The Chickens have come home to roost!" Hell, I even felt somewhat sorry for Cyn! That was despite all the harm she'd done and blood she'd spilt. In the end, she lived by making a deal with the devil. When Uzi took that away, Cyn's last look of despair was tangible.

This series and it's characters with 8 episodes had my more invested then some shows with more then 4 seasons. Yeah the finale was kinda rushed, but for me, they ended the main plots in an satisfactory way. Like V came back, Khan and Nori are reunited (see the credits for that) and Uzi and N are dating!!! Let's not forget the AMAZING animation in the Cyn battle. And they still left something for a potentional season 2. Uzi's new Solver Powers, Cyn still being part of her, what's up with the rest of the universe and I have already seen theories that the whole classroom was just an illusion made by Cyn...

Especially with the lore discussions and theories also helped. I'm glad I was born and lived long enough to see this masterpiece. But even though Murder Drones is complete and probably won't get another season, there's always some other mysteries left unsolved in this franchise similar to some other franchises out there. Anyways, now that Murder Drones is complete, for now The Amazing Digital Circus has a long way to go from how its story might end. I truly believe the that the show being super confusing is the sole reason why it never went viral like The Amazing Digital Circus did
@katherinesmallbean3594
@katherinesmallbean3594 2 ай бұрын
I think another possible reason is that The Amazing Digital Circus appeals to a bigger niche: horror content with colorful, silly characters and lore. Think of stuff like Bendy, FNAF, Baldi, DDLC, or Poppy Playtime for example. The indie horror type scene. Not just is it huge, but it was also in a low point wanting stuff to shake up the formula at the time when TADC came out. Although Murder Drones has some similar vibes of crazy, cute characters with horror themes, it leans more into an early 2000s oc kinda thing which less people are into (although it DEFINITELY has an audience). So, it didn't end up going as viral. It just wasn't something as many people were looking for.

I definitely agree that it has a lot of deep world building that can go over most people’s heads. That first episode has Uzi explaining that the worker drones helped humans establish exoplanets and despite there being two moons in the sky, one of which has rings, so many YT reaction channels thought the series was set on Earth. Some people even assumed the ringed moon was Saturn!! Yeah, you can see Saturn in the night sky from earth but it doesn’t look too different from any other star in the sky.

Okay but real talk... you putting it out there as 'hot topic invader zim' energy really sort of put words to what I've been struggling to convey. There was always just *something* about Murder Drones - and to a lesser extent The Amazing Digital Circus and Hazbin Hotel - that always just rubbed me the wrong way and prevented me from ever actually enjoying myself and I think it's that 'hot topic' vibe. I can obviously see all the time, love, effort, and talent that goes into making all of them, but they've always just left me with a feeling that I need to crawl out of my skin to escape the room I'm in. I really don't look fondly on that era in my life - not in a cringe way, but in a 'a lot of bad stuff all happened all at once' kind of way - and putting it into words really helped point out how these shows were just constantly reminding me of those bad times in my life.

I’ll forever glaze this show… but ep 8’s plot (edit here) was definitely very rushed. N’s trauma was only given one scene for resolution with the handholding. The railgun and the patch plot devices had many scenes of setup but only got a collective 2 shots and got kinda sidelined.

And more importantly, how does she make meat out of thin air and a NUKE with her hand? I think she's pure charisma, but she's also the root of all this confusing lore

Read some Lovecraft stories and read into the concept of eldritch horrors. The Absolute Solver is a supernatural eldritch entity related to the void / singularity / black holes. Such a fun romp. I watched most of it over a couple days. By the time I saw V swordfighting a robot dinosaur, I knew it was a show where I'd have to check the wiki or a timeline video afterwards in order to understand what I'd just watched, but thats okay! Vibes and intrigue alone were able to carry me to the end, and I had a lot of fun trying to stop and wrap my head around it afterwards. 😂 I'm usually into far slower plots, but sometimes we really need a totally batshit insane adventure speaking to our inner middleschoolers, culminating with a nightcore magic battle against the grotesque manifestation of a silly god. It was entertaining, the shots and animation were phenomenal, and the combined stuff with "eldritch horror rituals + sci-fi robot apocalypse + goofy larping androids raised on TV Tropes and Tumblr" was certainly a sight to behold. Was it all over the place? Yes. Did that hurt my enjoyment? No. It felt totally in line with the vibes of the show. It had a power point presentation about the protagonist's journey in episode 1 for pete sake! It definitely isn't the type of show for everyone, and it was rough around the edges a times, but I think it succeeded at what it set out to do with flying colors. I signed up for a crazy fun time, and I got just what I asked for. Really my only gripe is that I wish it had a bit more runtime to show the characters bonding and to let information sink in easier.

So I know that the series is actually kinda confusing for most people, which is understandable. But I understood most of it almost immediately when I watched it. Apparently I’m the weird one. 7:55

Murder Drones requires a few watches of each episode to really understand what’s going on, but MAN I love this series. I’m going to miss it.

While, I did not enjoy the Murder Drones series as much as many others (which made me incredibly sad because I loved the setting, the character designs and the overall idea behind the show), I will always be grateful for its existence. Any step towards to knocking down the exclusivity of the animation is a massive win!

I am so happy I'm not the only person who thought the story was all over the place. I do disagree that it is because there are a lot of moving pieces - I've seen shows with *a lot* more lore. The storytelling was disjointed and reminded me of something fueled by ADHD (which I understand because I have ADHD, but that doesn't mean the storytelling was done properly).

I think it all comes down to Liam's inexperience with directing and lack of foreplanning. Like in GlitchInn they mentioned that ep 2 Eldrich J actually was a part of the scrapped original plot. And there are many bits like this in the show. It's very impressive due to how it was produced, being an indi project with very limited resources and all, as well as visually and audibly stunning, but not particularly impressive story wise.

i like the breakneck pace. lower runtime means cheaper show, and with every frame being packed with details, the information isnt lost, just compressed. you need to rewatch it repeatedly to really catch everything, and i like shows like that. i like being handed a confusing puzzle that needs to be reexamined repeatedly to be solved. it isnt a perfect show by any means, and i definitely have things that id change about it if i could, but the pace isnt one of them.

From the same production company that brought you the AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS (Protect the widdle Pomi!) and also the same production company that was founded by one of the same people that animated Mario getting his PINGAS stuck in the door!

The series relied on visual storytelling, which was engaging but sometimes challenging. I often had to pause to read what’s on the screen to piece together the plot or rely on context clues. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed the series.

Murder drones is what would happen if you made HP Lovecraft watch a bunch of edgy early/mid-2000s flash cartoons and then told him to go write Wall-E, and I'm here for it

The writing REEKED of Tumblr, which makes sense since this is by Liam Vickers. It felt like every episode tried to cram too much info, but then left out a ton at the same time. And this is just me, but the dark lighting & intentionally samey character design made it hard for me to tell who was who at times. Still, I overall enjoyed Murder Drones despite itself. (Also, the thumbnail looks like blackface Jynx to me & I can't unsee it)

I saw the whole series for the very first time recently and it was really great. The show did play very fast since the characters didn't gather to learn about what just happened but I guess its left to the audience so if the audience knows then they know probably. The series may not have a season2 or be perfect but it still has a great change on animation, looking forward to what Glitch does next especially with TADC!

Murder drones gets better the more you watch it, its a series to rewatch and learn about, which may not be the best experience for some people, but for me it just adds to the story. I loved the finale, i know its not perfect, and rewatching, it did seem like there was lots to catch up on, but it did show what murder drones is all about in terms of horror, experience, fight scenes, and characters. Add to the fact that finales nowadays are extremely hard to pull off (as there's always a group that despises the ending) its hard to find a sweet spot where everyone seems chill with its closure. So to speak, Im not boycotting the ending or yelling about the pacing (which i know, pacing can be hard to absorb sometimes, I'm just happy i got such a good story out of my watch and rewatches.
