Chris Turner might be the most musical drummer in metal at the moment. He plays so freely, as if he’s just letting his hands and feet fly, but everything is so calculated and composed. He brings back little motifs here and there, legitimizing the insane fills and partial grooves he brings to each section, and it just lifts the rest of the band higher. He lives in the space, and is so musical about how he fills it. Even though he has this perpetual motion to his style, he orchestrates it in such a way that it’s dynamic and interesting, adding a certain humanity to the punishing intensity of the music. The guy’s the metal version of Elvin Jones, and is changing the way metal drums are played. Great drumming as always, man.

Calkins Covers you gotta check out Elliot Hoffman from Car Bomb he’s definitely one of the most insane drummers I’ve ever heard. So complex and so much emotion and he effortlessly plays it and he doesn’t even use a tempo at all

Im not saying this seeking acknowledgement or anything for my ego... I am only stating this in hopes that Sabian will supply me a full beast of a drum kit. I remember the day like yesterday.. Chris playin daily for hours I'd invite him over to jam, I'd show him a few techniques... Pretty much showed him everything... Buuut he was bangin on Zildjians... it sounded terrible... I swapped in my studios and BAM!!!! Chris Turner became this Chris Turner... As incredible as he is, he also became something else that day..... A fckn thief!!! he robbed me blind... Now I have nothing but memories... Thanks in advance Sabian for the amount of cymbals this guys smashes through ... what's one favor fkr the guy who brought this animal to you. ;)

Zach Felps definitely. Love his cymbal work. Huge part of playing and all his random accents are so original and unique. Doesn’t sound like every other drummer in this genre. It’s busy playing but he makes it work and makes it groove somehow.
