Funnily enough, lore says the Witches' council was set up after Mount Vesuvius erupted because of a witch, and they were more lax before. Volcanoes and witches don't mesh well, it seems. Although I think the general consensus is that good twins in Spellmans (specifically in the Spellman family since that's their secret) generally have too much of a conscience to do away with their evil ones. Hilda likely had a close call due to her recklessness, but at most they'd rather revenge than destroy their twin's life. Evil twins lack that kind of empathy or emotional closeness and would gladly let their good twin take the fall before wreaking havoc in the Mortal Realm. Although personally, I was thinking Zelda and Hilda were lying to Sabrina about lava to "sell the bit" so that Katrina and Sabrina would really believe the other would die. An easy spell or a different body anatomy (see the fact that Sabrina had an episode about turning into different elements, including fire, though she likely forgot that lesson) would save the witch from a certain mortal death.

@@devilsora100 They definitinitely don't seem to be sad enough about losing their adopted daughter. Now the question whether that was just because they knew a Good Witch would never kill their evil twin, or they knew the lava wouldn't work. It seems unlikely there's never been another situation where they misidentified which witch is which, or there wouldn't be the need for this test. But it is possible that Zelda and Hilda didn't know about that. Also, Zelda and Hilda were already perfect twin names. Hence why they were used in one of the Zelda games.

It’s been appearing on a lot of videos recently. Considering this channel is run by Paramount (or one of it’s subsidiary’s or partners) it’s probably just an example of business cheapskate-ery. Don’t want to pay to upgrade their hardware or for a full version of the editing software they use. This confused me when I was a kid. Now I get it. If you're truly good, your heart will not allow you to murder someone, not even if that person is evil. Kindness for bad people is what separates good people from evil people. Of course, that makes all the previous Witches' Council tests in the episode 100% pointless. I was also wondering how Sabrina survived. When I saw it again as an adult, I picked up on something I had missed: Zelda pointed her finger and cast a spell after Sabrina fell. At the end of the episode, Sabrina gets her witches' license. Ironically, after this, the witches' license never has any importance ever again. It's mentioned once early in season 4, in which Sabrina has to mentor a young witch and help that witch get her license or Sabrina will lose hers. But after that young witch's first appearance, we see no mentoring and the phrase "witches' license" is never mentioned again. That witch just becomes Sabrina's new best friend, replacing Valerie who is gone at that point. Katrina is sent to prison in the other realm where she chares a cell with Jezebelda (Zelda's evil twin). Katrina and Jezebelda appear in 2 later episodes. Hilda's evil twin never appears and we don't know her name. We never find out whether or not Amanda is an evil twin. It's also horrifying to think that Great Aunt Irma has an evil twin. If Irma is the good twin, imagine what her evil twin must be like.

"A lot of showmanship for a pointless resolution" is sadly formulaic with this show, but it was a good excuse to turn it into a clip episode and conclude the family secret plotline. Sabrina does teach Dreama how to turn herself into different elements in one episode like Quizmaster did for Sabrina, so it'd seem somewhere between her high school graduation and the fact Dreama never shows up again after said graduation, Sabrina's licence was just validated with no big fanfare and Dreama resumed her life in the Other realm. Personally, I headcanoned that Hilda's evil twin would be called Yolda, as aside from Zelda and Jezebelda, that's the only alternative I can find for their names. As for Amanda, a season 7 episode has her learn she's responsible for Sabrina's future death and is horrified, so her having a conscience in spite of all her brattiness and Marigold spoiling her education might be proof she's the good twin regardless, just not a very obvious one. Although I am terrified of what her and Irma's evil twins must've been like. I can imagine from what the good twins alone did, their evil ones were just directly stripped of magic of any kind. Even if they likely have neither their good twins' riches nor political power, letting them run amok is like letting Salem get away with gambling the Spellmans away: it's a big, long, administrative nightmare of a mess you'd better cut short before it makes the situation stink.

The family secret wasn't that big of a deal. There was one episode dedicated to kicking it off, the middle episodes brought in clues as an afterthought, and the final episode resolved the "season long" arc.

I think it'd be something like in "Jupiter Ascending", where there's a tiny but still existing chance of exact genetic copies (the main character was on Earth but her DNA ended up being a carbon copy of a space queen across the galaxy, leading to all sorts of legal shenanigans with said queen's children discussing their inheritance with her). I can imagine Sabrina and the rest of the Spellman family have this thing where whenever a new witch is being conceived, somewhere else their twin is manifesting (altho not sure if Katrina is half-mortal in that case, or who her parents are and if there was any mess explaining why their daughter would grow up to look like somebody else's unless they just coincidentally resembled Edward and Diana enough, but her parents likely received magic mail informing them of their daughter's magic incoming until she grew to discover her secret and meet Sabrina). The Witch's council probably has a whole system for approaching these things, and since Aunt Irma seems to be influential enough in the Other Realm, she likely had stuff set in place for her family's recessive evil twin thing.

I've always felt sorry for Katrina. If she hadn't been put to this test, she would have still spent her life being nice and doing good. Even if it was for selfish reasons, it seems she did take genuine pride in being good and contributing to the community. Should someone be deemed evil just because they're emotionally unbothered by hurting others, even if they never intend to harm anyone and actively choose to spend their life doing good? Katrina was never a bad person. This test singlehandedly TURNED her evil because after the events of the test, she no longer felt like there was a point to being good. But even after giving up on being good, what evil things has she actually done? She stole Sabrina's identity because she wanted freedom. She ruined Sabrina's friendships because she was bitter and jealous. But I don't recall her doing anything evil for the pure sake of evil, nor did she ever target anyone she didn't have anything personal against.

My four brother and I are not twins which is not a problem in most other new he’s born in 2003 I was born in 2004 and he is also older than me so I guess that’s makes me the youngest and the only Girl in my family (kinda like Lincoln except he has 10 sisters and I have 4 brothers) and don’t get me wrong I not upset about me being the only girl surrounded by boys (even though 3 of them are the oldest) I’m just different from them and ever since my Nana passed away things just don’t feel the same every things change and Not in a good way (well some change wasn’t bad) but most change were pretty bad like e.g: losing Nana, getting a job, don’t have much time to play with my brother, (except sometimes) it feels like the good memories are missing and won’t be able to come back (especially the memories about Nana) and I don’t like it well not the good change is the bad change that I don’t like about (and I don’t like to get caught sneaking around either)
