Audrey Hepburn - classiest, ever! In a Time when Celebrities treasured their roles as our heroes & helped America become what it came to be... & helped make it better with their mostly quiet Patriotism. They hugged their fame - didn’t tune it into a Soap Box or, worse yet, a rotting Campaign Stump.

@@vio3366 Bogart wasn’t anyone’s first choice for this role and he knew it. He was self conscious of how old and frail he looked due to the cancer that was slowly killing him and he was afraid his wife who was about Audrey’s age would leave him for someone younger. I think this film hit close to home for him. He also was never invited whenever the cast would get together after hours. Bogart had a very interesting life from the biographies I’ve read.

Wait a minute. This song is actually from like 1923 (but the movie was made in 1954). And she's like "Why have I never heard this before?" This interpretation of this scene never occurred to me before, but I'm thinking contemporary audiences would have understood this as a joke re: his age vs. hers. The song is older than she is, haha!

Why couldn't they have given her elocution lesson to lose that insane way she speaks. Not only can't you understand her half the time, but it's incredibly annoying. Emphasis on "t" and "p" but no emotion in her voice. It always amazed me how she was considered one of the big stars of the screen considering she played the same character over and over.
@thierrymoore8016Ай бұрын
I was just a kid when she died, but I totally understand the hype. This woman was beautiful and probably brought something different from the other actresses of the time. A touch of class. Probably what you criticize her for was part of what people liked about her. So much hatred for someone who's been dead for over thirty years, it's bizarre to say the least.

Hard to believe, but Humphrey Bogart did not like Audrey Hepburn. I read where he had wanted Lauren Bacall to play the part and got upset when she did not get it. He was cold to Audrey the whole time. If true, so unfortunate.
@abdsamad195910 жыл бұрын
Audrey probably regarded bogie's attitude as mere 'office' politics. She, bogie, holden n wilder were all professional in their field... she knows she's the junior and she puts up with it because like any good junior professionals on a learning curve she tolerated it and showed no disrespect to bogie. Contrary to what you say there is a behind the scene photo of bogie and audrey smiling at each other.
@lbroderick78310 жыл бұрын
I don't doubt that they all acted like professionals especially Audrey since this was only her second movie. I'm sure she was a little intimidated by Bogart. He would scare the hell out of me! I'm just saying I read it somewhere (can't remember where anymore) that he wasn't nice to her and that he didn't think she was a very good actress. Since this was only her 2nd movie, I can see where he might think that. A smiling picture doesn't mean everything was great either. And he could not have liked that Bill Holden and Audrey were really close on the picture either. However it was the picture turned out great, and I loved it.
@abdsamad195910 жыл бұрын
Love the movie too, watched the video several times over . Anyway Roman Holiday , Sabrina and Love in the afternoon , a 3 way tie favourites for me.
@lbroderick78310 жыл бұрын
I love the first two movies! Love in the Afternoon was a little odd for me. Audrey was still very young and beautiful but they had her falling for Gary Cooper who looked like he was 60 something! Might have worked better if his character wasn't so old. However, I did love the ending where she is chasing after the train as he is leaving and then he grabs her at the last minute. Very romantic.
