I was born in 1961, and heard Sonic Booms and listened to the Woodframed windows rattle. We were 20miles from the S.A.C. Base of Barksdale AirForce Base. I can recall seeing PLACARDS featuring RADIATION FALLOUT SHELTER on our Schools were we practiced "Drop & Cover" drills.

It's amazing how Kennedy and especially the Air Force were keen on calling Khrushchevs bluff, when they thought he wasn't even bluffing.

I love how he started off with "gentlemen!" That would not go over well in today's air force! However, the air force back then was something to be truly scared of, unlike today.

What’s wrong with today’s Air Force? Not enough men with men interested in masculine roles with other manly men who are underneath, on top of, in between, piled/stacked/all over other men with men submitting to men penetrating each other?

Has it not been proved that at the time of the Cuban missile crisis that the Americans had massively over estimated soviet ICBM capabilities and numbers?

Yes. The Soviets never reached parity with our nuclear forces until the 70s. There never was a bomber gap or missile gap. We were always ahead.

Yes but we're talking about two different things. We likely had more ICBM but were still vulnerable to MRBM in Cuba. Not that we didn't have them in Western Europe too, mind you.

Listen close, correlate with allied intel activites and capabilites of the period and conclude with a picture of how we knew what we new then. Then contrast with war plans and doctrine of the same period to realize the truths of history.
