Having almost worshipped Sachin during his playing days and having shed tears on the day of his retirement, I believe Sachin knew more than what he is revealing. He may not have been involved in fixing but he should have known about it and the teammates. And I am sure fixers may have approached him since he was such a star player. But not speaking is his choice. Morally and ethically, it would have been great for cricket if Sachin spoke. I was disappointed when he chose silence. See the team is together in ground, in the dressing room and the hotels. What people are doing outside the hotel no one knows and obviously they don't use their own phones so that no one catches them. I think a gentleman can like him that too in a bowling era the world of cricket can never find. He is the god for a reason. I have a huge respect for him and i cannot doubt him. I appreciate and respect this gentleman. He was greatest as batsman in his time, remained free of controversies. He did not continue his captaincy, knowing the fact, he was not a good captain and others teammates had better ability of captaincy. He was not part any group within teammates. His performances were clearly indicating all his directions. He never spoke rubbish, on field, even appreciated and respected opponent teammates, eventhough, the opponent team was negatively targeting him. He was always cool minded on the field.

Not everything is based on PR, this is a very very old interview. Watch his interviewing style right from when he was 16 year old, you can simply sense the maturity and wisdom even as a teenager. As JY Lele said in that Tehelka documentary - in that final v. Sri Lanka (1998 Singer Akai Nidahas trophy final) where there was a suspicion of fixing, it's the authority who went to Sachin with that news for help! What a joke! It's not like Sachin got to know or blew the whistle - the authorities had everything to prosecute by the looks of it. The bat spoke, we won the final, Sachin and Ganguly didn't allow Azhar to bat due to the suspicion. But why did the authority approach Sachin for help instead of going to the police if they had the evidence? This is nonsense honestly. Sachin and many are from the school of thinking that there is a time and place for things - what should be discussed in courts shouldn't be discussed in the media, irrespective of how much masala has been purchased by news channels. Let's not forget the death threats and kidnapping threats we used to hear from terrorists against Sachin and Ganguly back then, not sure how much of it was for what they did to fight back using the forums they had back then. Protect this man instead of hanging him out to dry - a news setting isn't a safe spot to ask questions, given the characters we assume that are involved in it.

Anirudh Venugopal Azhar was very successful captain who captained India from 1990 to 1999 and won many tests series and one days cups for India. No doubt Ganguly and Dhoni were successful too but Azhar was more better captain than them in my opinion because Azhar won matches for India with comparatively weaker bowling attacks that were available for later two.

Sachin himself was involved in Match-fixing. How come Azhar would have fixed matches without Sachin's involvement. If the captain has to manipulate the outcome of a cricket match he needs the most effective player to be his side. And in between 1990 - 1996, Sachin was the key player in the Indian team. Things started to change once Saurav and Rahul Dravid started to get success starting 1996 England series onwards. That's all the more reason why betting lobby wants one or two very good players so that manipulation becomes easier.

The only opportunity to speak is in official forums. A news channel interview isn't a place to present evidence of any sort - in fact, it risks being rejected in courts, if someone sends it to a channel, instead of going by the procedures in submitting it. All one tells the news channel is - "I don't have evidence/I have submitted whatever appropriate to officials". Kangaroo courts like news channels, and self-appointed judges like Arnab don't count.

Sachin was Actually injured during that time due to Tennis Elbow , Chappel was Selected as Coach by Ganguly only Tom moody Richards were also in Pipe line for Coaching !!! RIft started in ZImbabwe series itself between Ganguly and CHappel both coming out with statement against each other !!! Sachin only came after 2 Series against Srilanka in 2005 !!! Exactly after Bangladesh tour after 2007 WC fiasco Sachin gave a press meet saying BCCI should consider statements of Players also then After Lal chand Rajputs tenture team selected Gary Kirsten which turned out to be the best till Date for India !!!!

Such comments with those expectations are why I recommend that Sachin gets a Bharat Ratna award daily. You have not seen the Tehelka tapes, so Sachin should ideally sue you for lying about he not doing anything about match fixing. And the Chappell Dravid issue is entirely Dravid's fault, Sachin isn't their baby sitter - in fact, Sachin lashing out was a key reason why Chappell's contract wasn't renewed, unlike Dravid who chose to not fight. I still feel for Dravid at that time - both Sachin and Dravid aren't political, but Dravid makes matters worse by trying to corporatize cricket. Nonetheless, you putting all the burden on Sachin for doing something about crises - instead of other players, or even authorities themselves - it captures the unreasonable expectations Indians placed/still place on him. It further proves that he deserved the Bharat Ratna, and in fact, he should get the award on a daily basis given how such a nikamma public can call him selfish.
