I think he had his own style. His contribution of bring ghazals to a common man is unforgettable. Nobody could do it. That’s because of his simple tunes. Mind you simple is difficult and difficult is easy as every seasoned person will say. I think he is the greatest of all. Since he had it all simplicity and performance both.

Soni ji, what an amazing ghazal, have no words in appreciation for this beautiful upload...You have just floored me, by sharing such an incredible piece of poetry and rendition...In this performance, it is as if, Jagjitji has poured his heart out, in the rendition of this classic piece of poetry... I am a little puzzled, because I can't say, whether I am hearing, Mehdi Hassan saab or Jagjitji.....Sung in the same style in a very soft and soothing voice , one just cannot make out the difference...Well.! This is how I feel .. Jagjit’s contribution towards promotion of Urdu ghazal is tremendous. Mehdi Hasan ruled as the King but showed the way forward to a lot of singers. Hariharan is another living example of someone who started off following Mehdi Saheb and then allowed his own creative style to show him the way.

Khatir is the poet. Bazi e dil is the bet of love Maat is defeat.. I.e., khatir the poet said that in this bet of love, it's better to loose the battle against ur loved one..either u loose or she wins, it's the same for u..
