I hoped to hear some insight on the differences between the brands in ZF consortium and how to choose between them. For example, LEMFÖRDER 31770 01 and SACHS 802 417, both brands belonging to ZF, look pretty identical. But are they?

My shocks are made in Turkey...sachs! I am from Serbia, but i have done some internet research and sow that products of zf group is mostly now made in turkey!

@@strahinjicban4682 .....and to think they're a German business. Having said that, Hengst of Germany have manufacturing in China and Mann Filters have manufacturing in Korea and Brazil. Its when they say German quality, yet have manufacturing in other countries. SCT of Germany have their engine oils blended in a a plant in Lithuania which they purchased and refurbed. By the way SCT engine oils seems good quality.

YES, ZF probably supply 80% of BMW parts. Just like AISIN and Denso in Toyota.
