Madness is allowing a bully to tell you what to do. Insanity is watching a bully destroy someone else and doing nothing about it. Today it is south and eastern Ukraine Putin says he wants. Tomorrow it will be the north and west of Ukraine. The week after that it will be Poland. Bullies like Putin are never satisfied. And as he defeats each country he will enslave their males as soldiers and send them into the next country he wants to invade as cannon fodder. Does that sound reasonable to you?

The desire of Finland and Sweden to join NATO is total idiocy. The west has lost its mind, forgetting that upon the collapse of the Soviet Union, NATO had lost its justification to exist, and should have been disbanded in the 1990s. It was kept alive only to feed the military-industrial complex. I dare say that had NATO been disbanded, there would not have been a war in Ukraine today. Yet, Finland and Sweden want to join NATO. The question should be "How do we stop the suffering?" but that's NEVER the primary goal of the US. (I say US because they call the tune and Europe dances to it.)
@Hazzelnot942 жыл бұрын
Consider that if we were to reward Russia for this, what's to stop them from doing something similar again in the future. The suffering in happening in Ukraine is 100% Russia's fault.

@@Hazzelnot94 There's been a civil war in Ukraine since 2014. Kiev government, in complicity with far-right militias like Azov, have committed awful crimes against civilians in the Donbass area. I wouldn't say the suffering in Ukraine is 100% Russia's fault.
@Hazzelnot942 жыл бұрын
@@alefandrita The war is 1000% Russia fault. What has happened in Ukraine since 2014 is not a civil war, Russians soldiers have been in the country since the first bullet was fired, and this has been proven many times over. And then there's the Nazi argument and always pointing to the Azov Batallion. Well, it's not a Batallion but a regiment consisting of roughly 1000 men out of the entire Ukrainian armed forces that consists of 250 000 men and women. The Azov Batallion is irrelevant in all but Russian information war. Russia doesn't have any qualms with Nazis as they have supported far-right nationalists IN Europe for decades now. They just slap the Nazi label on their enemy to invoke nostalgic war fervour amongst its own citizens. The Ukrainian government is not a Nazi government. ZELENSKY HIMSELF IS A JEW!
@alefandrita2 жыл бұрын
@@Hazzelnot94 I invite you to read a report of a Swiss NATO and UN expert that has been working in Ukraine to fight the proliferation of small weapons since 2014. His name is Jacques Baud and the tittle of his report is "The military situation in the Ukraine". His researches on field, together with the OSCE, showed that Russia did not armed people of the Donbass to fight the Kiev forces. The DPR and LPR armies got their weapons from the soldiers of the Ukrainian army itself because many of them defected after they started to see the crimes of the Ukrainian army against their own people. You also can see documentaries about the conflict in the Donbass that show how civilians (children, elderly people) are being constantly attacked by the Ukrainian army since 2014. Those are human rights violations period. Now regarding Azov, I come from Colombia, a country that has paramilitary groups. They are ultraviolent, they torture innocent people, rape women...and here they are illegal groups. However, lots of politicians (especially congressmen) had links to those groups and they went to jail. Yes, paramilitaries are not many but the horrors they committed impacted a lot the lives of thousands of innocent people that had to flee and mourn their relatives that were massacred. Now, Azov belongs to the Ukrainian army!!! Their leaders have been in the congress as if it was totally normal! Torturers! Assassins of thousands of civilians, innocent people whose mistake was to be born of Russian ethnicity. And you know what? They have been financed, trained and armed for years, by Canada, France, the UK but mainly the US. Listen to Colonel Richard Black, you'll see what the US has done in Syria and now in the Ukraine. Look for the truth.
@Hazzelnot942 жыл бұрын
@@alefandrita Baud's claims have been refuted and his arguments rest upon the Russian narrative. You can just look to the leadership of DNR/LPR, they are FSB. The shooting down of MH17 was done with a Russian anti-air missile from separatist territory and was confirmed by radio chatter between the Russians and the separatists. Also Azov battalion and what they have or haven't done is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things because it doesn't justify the Russian invasion or the bullshit claims that Russia is 'liberating' Ukraine. Its smoke and mirror, that's all it is. Azov didn't even exist until 2014.

Mr Sachs is very reasonable and practical, there is no other better way to help Ukraine but supporting peace talk to happen and this is not for the shake of Ukraine only but for Europe and the rest of the world. If a security pact of China and Solomon island, a tiny and far away island, create so much existential threat to US, why not for Russia with their very neighbor of Ukraine. Plus, the US should also consider that under the industrial revolution 4.0, people may easily educate themselves with fair and impartial information to verify the war narrative imposed by the West.

Resolving the war in Ukraine demands more than economic pressure alone; it requires comprehensive diplomatic engagement, sustained dialogue, and a strategic approach that prioritizes long-term stability. This involves not only security assurances to address Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity but also robust humanitarian support for those affected by the conflict and political solutions that lay the groundwork for peace and reconciliation. Sanctions, while significant in signaling disapproval and imposing economic costs, have proven insufficient on their own to alter the course of the war or compel meaningful concessions. Their impact can be mitigated through adaptive strategies and alternative economic partnerships. Therefore, sanctions should be seen as one component of a broader strategy that includes diplomatic initiatives to bring all parties to the negotiation table. For a lasting resolution, international efforts must focus on fostering trust, building cooperative security arrangements, and addressing the underlying geopolitical and economic factors contributing to the conflict. Only through a comprehensive approach that combines pressure with meaningful dialogue and cooperation can there be a pathway to peace and stability in the region.
