Just a tip I leaned in film school, extend the legs the other way around. Meaning, Extended the bottom stage first, then extend the top stage. That way you don't bend over to adjust. It is beneficial to do this for several reasons. First, you put the camera in a very precarious position if you are doing it the way you are doing it at 3:38. You can easily tip over the whole tripod doing it that way. Plus, if you do it how I recommend, you won't be bending over so far and potentially injuring your back. The other school of thought is that the legs are sturdier at a lower mode when you do it your way but if that is the case, one needs better tripod legs to begin with. If the tripod legs are not sturdy when fully extended, they are too weak for the payload that one is carrying.

Thanks for this review mate. I would like to get one for my studio setup which on top of the A7siii includes a teleprompter and a very light monitor. The whole weight is just less than 4kg (3.5kg) therefore is just under the Ace M 4kg payload. I can potentially attach the monitor somewhere on the legs with a rubber legs mini tripod to unload a little weight. Do you think I am a bit too close to the limits and should I get a sturdier version like the XL which can hold up to 8kg or you think I'll be fine with the M version? Have you ever got close to 4kg on yours and experienced any issues? Many thanks :)

hard to say on that. i haven't been that close to the weight limit on my M version. im using it with the A74 and the sigma 24-70 and that works well. yeah definitely hooking the monitor to the legs is possible but depending on what you're shooting, you lose the motion of the fluid head.

@Dick Wyn Yong Ok thanks a lot for your feedback. I think I'm gonna get it anyway (second hand) for the studio and it should be alright cause I won't be using the fluid head in this situation. When I'll bring it outdoor I will only mount the A7siii and a small lens and I will be very much under the payload so no problems at all :))
