Great review!! The best yet I’ve seen on this tripod...gonna buy at least one today!!

Is that a crack at 28 seconds? It looks like one. I'm kind of keen on getting a Flowtech 75, but have seen a couple of examples where the plastic seems to have cracked. Also, for a more premium tripod (and one from Sachtler) a one year warranty dosen't seem like they have much faith in their product. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWbRopuHh7qXiZo

No there's nothing there, I guess it must have been something on the leg.

At 0:28 & 1:25 you appear to have a fractured spreader clamp.
@fryfilm20002 жыл бұрын
It was just a bit of dust! Sachtler actually reached out at the time but there was nothing to fix.
@inter-linked2 жыл бұрын
@@fryfilm2000 is definitely a crack.

@@inter-linked I have the same tripod here next to me - there is no crack. It's just the shadow of a spider web or something.
@inter-linked2 жыл бұрын
@@fryfilm2000 it is as clear as day. There is a fractured section. Are you kidding. Review the cottage.or the footage.

If you’ve not spotted it, you’d better get it fixed before it breaks completely.

Really solid review. This thing looks like a masterpiece. Thinking of picking one up with the FSB6 head.

Thanks for posting, I am really interested in this tripod, can I ask at 0'28" as the camera zooms in there appears to be a crack in the matt black plastic? cover. Is that from an accident or is that wear and tear? Also I know the height of the sticks from the spec but what is the diameter of the legs when collapsed and foldered together, I am trying to see if it wouyld fit in a carry case.
@fryfilm20007 жыл бұрын
Not sure, about four inches diameter I reckon. Much smaller than a Video 20! Will investigate that ding in the plastic. It's so tiny as to have not spotted it. Might just be the shadow of a bit of dust from the case.

Thanks, I watched it again. To me it looks like a hairline crack that's spidering out in two directions. It is on the Matt black smooth section that rides on top of the leg. Just look slightly above dead centre at 28 sec.

I've looked over it twice & cannot find that mark, so I think it must simply have been a hair or packing fibre! We'd only got it out of the box the day before, & it would never have passed QC with a crack.

Love the audio on such a windy day! Did you do anything besides tuck the mike between your shirt and jacket? Did you purchase the tripod or was is a demo so you could do a review on it?

I saw one at a show then bought this one.

Cool review! How's the fluid head?
@fryfilm20006 жыл бұрын
The best we've ever used, save a film head, which are impractically heavy and expensive for this sort of camera. The FSB range are totally brilliant!

I think you forgot the mid-spreader in the last pan shot demonstration, loss some stability. Nice review anyway but with some footages taken while using the set will be great, thanks.
@fryfilm20006 жыл бұрын
I never use the mid spreader. The tripod wasn't set up properly in the last shot, as I'd just been picking it up and down, as seen in the video. If I was shooting properly I would obviously take the time to set all the feet and leg lengths to their optimal.

Yikes, looks like it was about to tip over at the end. Seems too top heavy and isn't really suitable for medium/large set ups.
@fryfilm20007 жыл бұрын
That's just because I had the legs a bit too close together. I wouldn't have shot like that! Any tripod would do that without spreading the legs properly.
@fryfilm20007 жыл бұрын
Also notice that I'm on uneven ground - this was a quick test to show off the abilities of the sticks, not a field test. I'm clearly not taking the time to set up as you would when shooting. I also don't think I had one of the feet flicked down, which would also make it wobble.
