I fail to see how a beautiful performance for open minded children can devolve into negativity like some of the comments posted here. Opera is timeless and exposure to it while young can lead to a lifetime of appreciation. British or American, we share common values. there's value in ALL music genre's. The performers were exceptional, I particularly enjoyed the active participation by the POLICE.. LOL

In the social climate of today's America, such a presentation would be no more than 'Pearls before the swine'. The only music heard publicly are HipHop or Rap - both disgusting. As someone said earlier, Nessun Dorma always brings tears to my eyes. I didn't have a lot of exposure as a child, but as I was studying/learning other styles of music, I did run across some. I eventually got to perform some - an exhilarating experience. I do wish our kids heard more of this and less with four letter words in it...

Highly creative brilliant idea - this is better than any advertising PR dollar you could possibly spend by springing this impromptu operetta fun 'swarming' on the kids during lunch-hour. I have no doubt this is one which shall come to mind for years to come in the minds of these children! ...who knows...maybe some will strat listening more to classical music or even sing it themselves in the future. . . The policeman showing up was a good one.... - no doubt all the kids felt safe but the surprise was on them when he started to sing as well. . . BRAVO! I just loved it! Pass the parmiggiano, I am listening to this once more!
