I found this track, curiously, by accident. It haunts me, I think about it and I must go back to it. It reminds me of listening to Enya as a boy in the 90s, it's a soothing assault on the senses. Softer than a feather but with locomotive power. This is not a song, it's a spell....

The first thing I thought when I listened to this song and generally to Jenny Hval is how much incredible music exists that I still haven’t discovered. Hvall is extraordinary brilliant!

After being a fan of Jenny since 2012, I can say this album is the most sensitive and complex. Made my limited edition LP immediately after listening to the Ashes to Ashes.

Beautiful. Sad. It reminds me of what one time my mother said to me. We've always been very close, but during a very emotional time for the family, she was crying, and she told me that I wasn't the person she wanted me to be. I'm trying to make sense of that. Thanks for the music and the video.

If she loves you she'd love you for who you are...you're her child, not her project. Selfish woman.

Your mother needs to worry about one thing, being the person SHE wants to be. Someone happy with what they see in the mirror, wouldn't pass that buck onto their children.

I think High Alice has even greater potential for a good video.
I don't want to do the usual cliché of comparisons, but I must. Jenny Hval took the torch from Nico and remade it in her own unique style/styles.

Once she was a mystery of life Now she is Skyping with her friend They are both childless It rings a hollow tone, childless No longer a mystery of life, just less She found stretch mark cream in an AirBnB bathroom It was just cream Rubbing it on her belly, she felt nothing I was just an accident I was just an accident I was just an accident, even to myself She is curious about crying nipples To her friend she finds herself saying "I wonder how I've managed to avoid conceiving You know, by accident" So many years, so little fruit You know, maybe I would've just kept it "Probably, I can't even do it", she says She eats dried figs from a container I was an accident I was an accident Once I was an accident, and a mystery of life Once I made people believe in miracles, or God, or love I was the hour of the star I moved like a jellyfish I smelled of nothing And she was told she was the closest Her mother came to magic She is made for other things Born for cubist yearnings Born to write, born to burn She is an accident She is flesh in dissent She is an accident A curious androgyne She is an accident Flesh in dissent Flesh in dissent
