My understanding is the that when the Morman’s fled the east and came west in the late 1800’s a lot of men died coming west and they had few men and a large population of females. In order to care for the widowed woman and children and try to repopulate and balance the #’s, they adopted polygamy. Then, sometime later, a bunch of horny men realized they could manipulate the religion and the women to suite their perversions.
@JohnO3184 жыл бұрын
In this movie, Sandra Tanner says it isn't true, but even if it were, that has nothing to do with the doctrines men becoming gods and being promised many wives of eternal Marriage to populate their own planets. The story of man dying on the wagon trail or whatever is just an excuse to justify horny men having sex with as many women as they can get away with, the younger the better because it was never about love or truth, but lust and control, lies, sin and satanic influence.

I know exactly how it feels to be deceived by the Mormon religion. I moved to Utah at the ripe age of 19 back in 1985. The valley was predominately LDS (latter Day Saints) back then which made it difficult to find work if you were not of this faith. My family back east didn’t practice any particular religion during this time, so I didn’t have a compass. It felt wrong from day one, and I left after a few short weeks, however they didn’t let me go easily. They hunted me down for years before finally giving up. Thank the good Lord for giving me enough insight and wisdom to reject this “cult like” religion that is so demeaning to women and children. I still live in the SLC area as a Christian, and once in a while a couple of missionaries come by and I welcome a debate.🙏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻✝️

I was born and raised in Utah and The missionaries tried to get me to get baptized for a few years after my little sisters did, mostly out of peer pressure from their friends. They kept trying for years until my mom finally had to get a little mean and tell them if i became interested I knew where they were. My little sisters got baptized because many of their friends were and some of their friends were told they couldn't play with my sisters because they weren't baptized. It is quite frustrating how the cult works here. My husband is Christian and from the east coast kinda on the bible belt. He told the missionaries they could stop by and I was kinda ticked. I told him he was on his own. He did have friendly debate with them and he was really pissing one of them off, but they have not come back since. That was like 2 years ago.

I have family members that are mormon. I was born to a Christian family but spent a lot of time around the mormon church bc of other family members. I realized as a child that something didnt seem right to me. I never felt comfortable when I was at the mormon church. Something always felt wrong. As I got older I started to see the warning signs that I wasnt able to see as a child. The day i found out there was a room i wasnt allowed in bc I'm a girl, i never stepped foot back on that property. In that moment I felt God telling me "this is not my house. I would never deny u entrance". Its caused a lot of heartbreak and worry for me. I love my family members but have to keep a safe distance for the sake of my own children. I've gotten wedding and birth announcements over the years for events I couldnt attend bc I'm not mormon. The modern day mormon church still separates families. They caused divides amongst loved ones. One of my cousins left the mormon faith and I'm so proud for him. I've seen so much positive change in his family since they felt that cult and came to God. I pray more will leave too but I'm not hopeful. Sadly I believe they are too lost. I really want to share this video but I fear it only push them further away. Can someone help guide me on how to open conversations with them?

Hi Ashley, no one is ever "too lost". Don't give up and don't stop praying. Such an encouraging film and such lovely people who have seen the light and found Jesus Christ. I do hope and pray that the video will help encourage those who are not sure about their mormon faith. Thank goodness that Warren Jef is incarcerated, shame they don't arrest more like him. I do think that they ought not to let him communicate with his followers via the prison.

It is genuinely disturbing to hear them say that their pain was to such a degree that they openly chose that they’d willingly go to hell rather than continue as they’d been. Nothing can truly show just how awful this practice is like people openly choosing to take an eternity of torment rather than remain as they have been.

This is not a fundamentalist story, it is from the regular LDS Church. When I was growing up (1970's) women who were not married used to come up to my Grandmother and say, "Oh! Mable! I had myself sealed to your husband in the temple!" My Grandmother and her husband were very much in love and had a very strong marriage. My Grandfather died first. Woman after woman told my Grandmother they were also my Grandfather's "Celestial wives." They would say, "Isn't it wonderful! We will be Celestial Sister Wives!" THIS was in the regular LDS Church, in the 1970s. I have two friends who said after their wedding, in the temple, they went into the bathroom and cried because they had just learned to understand that one day - after death - they would have to share the man they loved and had just married, with other women. Polygamy is alive and well in the regular LDS church.

As someone who was raised to believe in nothing and be atheist ~ I know god is with me, he took me into his world when I was young in the form of a children youth group. My parents withdrew me when they learned of the faith, but that Christmas the group delivered presents to me despite my parents wishes. For a long time I thanked those people, but who I really should have thanked, was god for never giving up on me, even when my parents tried to hide me. They eventually allowed me to go, and since have left that group, but god will always be with me. This video especially the last 20 minutes or so about how everyone found god and Jesus gave me GOOSEBUMPS. Bless you lord; thank you for saving us all.

I am a non active LDS member, haven't been to Church for many years for circumstances that didn't allow me to do it, my husband and I are both members of the Church but started to keep distance after being disappointed at the behaviour of the bishop and some members of our chapel who scolded my husband for giving food and clothes to a homeless mother and her two toddlers who were crying, both children were hungry and barely naked, I personally helped my husband by offering them food and clothes, one of the bishop councillors was against it and the bishop said he was right, ironically, it happened while celebrating mother's day at the church, my husband got mad about it and I supported him, after that we've moved different times because of my husband's job but we didn't have the chance to attend the church meetings, many years passed, and both my husband and I decided not to attend even when we again had the chance to attend, first of all because of the disappointment at how many things work in the church and the behaviour of other members including local leaders, we decided that we still can do good to others, and that's what we do; but to me all of this time has put many questions in my mind about the doctrines that we're taught, even though I have studied the books a lot, there are things that don't seem completely clear or right to me and definitely the doctrine of plural marriage in heaven is there, and we have to accept that a husband whose wife died can marry again for eternity and in the end both women will be his wives in heaven, this has bothered me always and I don't think that I can accept that, they say things are different in heaven, no need for jealousy or something but I am not convinced of that; in contrast to that, if a woman's husband died and she was married to him for eternity and then she marries another man by law she cannot marry him for eternity in the church because she can only have one husband in this life wich she is married to for eternity and is the only one that she will be married to in heaven as well, so , she can marry again by the country's law but not in the church, that's pretty convenient for men and puts women in a submissive position; l have always been troubled by the knowledge of the practice of polygamy in the beginnings of the church, knowing that the church abandoned that practice seemed good enough for some time but after reflecting all of this time away from the church I find it weird to praise Joseph Smith for being a prophet of God despite of what he practiced, he was also a free-Mason and seems so obvious that he took many of that group's practices and beliefs and made them part of the church's practices and beliefs, it seems all so twisted, hidden things that are there because I can feel it, at least when it comes to the beginnings of the church things are not that transparent, I always wondered, why Emma Smith (Joseph Smith's wife) would abandon the church, what would have made her do that after all of the sacrifices she did to help her husband to establish the church, they say that she was weak in the end and was fooled by the evil to abandon what she knew was true but it never truly convinced me; this and many other things have made me wonder if it's just my perception or really that's not the church of jesus christ which has been restored, what if it's all a well made up story, a well written book by the imagination of a person and not really coming from God, just a text inspired by what we can read in the bible like a holy fantasy novel, I'm not sure anymore, they always say not to judge God's church by the behaviour of people because people are imperfect but nowadays I find it's a convenient way to stop people from reflecting and analysing things, I had been wanting to believe in the good because the LDS Church teaches good values, gives hopes of an eternal life with your loved ones, offers an explanation of where we come from, why we are here and where we will go after death, seems like a very satisfying explanation; I joined the LDS Church because after attending to different religions meetings I felt that I had found the truth, the right place, where everything was so well explained, but now, I have doubts, and I'm not ashamed of recognizing it, even if other members would say that I have no faith, that I'm weak, I don't care; I feel that something is off, even if apparently nowadays everyone gives that angelic vibe, I feel like I can't believe it all like I used to do it, I always wondered why was there something that prevented me and my husband to go back to the church and be active, even so, now I see that it was good, because I had time to really get a bigger picture of it, and question things I always feared to openly question, that's why I decided to stay away and leave it all to God, I want to say that Everybody is loved by God no matter what religion they have or if they don't have any religion, he loves everyone even if some don't love him, people can be good and do good everywhere at any time, kindness and generosity have no religion, and faith goes beyond religion and everything because God is beyond everything, I don't complicate anymore, I have doubts and I know God will lead my way, nowadays I put my faith in him not in a particular religion, is ok if you feel good in your religion but by all means, if you have doubts about it, be it the religion it is, then please take your time, analyse and ask God because he will always find you, and you're not bad for having doubts, God will not hate you for having doubts, know that you always matter to him, and you can and must be as good as you can be and help others as well, it's my humble belief.
