ok the first trick is cool, but now I feel like I should study more standard alekhine defense theory, in case white doesn't follow "the plan"

What you call the two knight defense looks like a version of the Blackburn Schilling trap. I once beat a good player using it in eight moves.

Thanks for the line on the wing gambit, I had this position a lot and was actually following stockfish that suggests queen e2 which wins a piece for the pawn loss, but then it's not so simple to know what to do, yours seems easier to play for humaisn and more active in terms of piece development thank you for that

I'll get the Tennison (ICBM) gambit more often when facing the Caro Kann. Scandy players usually don't take it for some reason. That's only my experience though
@beardoswat2365
@beardoswat2365 10 ай бұрын
Well it's because the ICBM line is originally popularized against the Scandinavian here on KZbin. So Scandi players are aware of it while against the Caro-Kann, it's still a novelty considering how low the views are on this line compared to against the Scandinavian.

In trap 2, black always had the option to play Qh5+; will that be a problem?

You can find more details here in the Bishop's Opening Video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5OWgYqffsd8gNU Qh4+ can be met by g3 or Kf1 and it is usually good for White.

I have watched many videos and attempted many traps but for some reason I either get into a position where its impossible, or they see it coming and don't let me. Regardless if speed chess or not.

Qh4 is brutal for black in trap 2. Even a beginner would play this move. White then will have to move his king. This will ruin all White's calculations.

Look at the titles of this channel…dirty tricks, destroy beginners, improve instantly… I’m sure it appeals to impatient, superficial chess beginners who just want to memorize some cool lines and get some easy wins, but that’s not what chess is about. It doesn’t help them improve.

Yes I agree that most beginners would be led to think they can advance quickly by learning tricks and traps. But that’s not so, these are positions that hardly ever convert in lower levels because it’s chaotic play at that level. They have made me a better player in that I spot x-rays, forks and pins way better, and I have many comeback wins thanks to key queen traps. But yes if I was better at the basics I wouldn’t have been playing from behind to begin with, granted.

In Trap 1 The pawn move forward was a huge blunder and THAT was the GG moment. In reality all he had to play was Pawn A4 attacking the opponents queen with that pawn being defended by the Rook on A1 soooooo how on earth is this all bad? How did he miss that? this is a unique game. I dont think you could call that a trap thats just an opponents blunder. Also if you are a coach tell us what the opening was I knew it was the Alekhine but not the "O'Sullivan Gambit" I had to look that up myself. See people already know this line and as soon as I put in the move of the blunders 0 master games came up because they arent stupid enough to fall for this. Literally a named gambit obviously this is for the new players the way you made this video out to be. No offense but you could've done alil better with the coaching part during the video because you are a GM and a coach.
