Holy Spirit I pray for the protection of all of the powers of heaven over Bishop Robert Barron, I pray in gratitude for his open heart - a true heart of flesh, that is acted upon by you, accepts you - wisdom - truth - light - beauty, and then allows himself to come into communion with you so that through him your words and life flow to all of us. Father, Son, Holy Spirit, help Bishop Barron, guide him, save him from all evil, people, spirits, words, actions, things, and dreams. Thank you, Bishop Barron, and the entire Word on Fire team/family, for all you are giving to the world, and teaching us.

Hearing this homily led me to compose a prayer to use after communion: Jesus, as I receive your Body and Blood today, may I be reminded that you in Body were sent by God, the Father, out of love, beginning through conception by the Holy Spirit and given human birth by the Virgin Mary. Your Body walked and talked on this earth to teach us, suffered the shedding of Blood and death in sacrifice for our sins, but rose again to give us hope in a new covenant to bring us closer to the Triune God through partaking of this Eucharistic Mystery. By sharing in this meal with your Mystical Body, may I be nourished to increase my actions to fulfill my part of the covenant and more closely unite myself to you-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Bishop , you and I are a less than a month apart… I’m the older woman. Lol . The way you were taught as a child was completely different than the way I was regarding Catholicism . Our parish priest was a monster, the nuns were for lack of a better word , mentally ill . All of them abusive. I ran from it all. How could a little child grasp any of this , even if I was taught properly it’s all so hard to grasp. Fast forward to 62 yrs old. My religion has come to sustain me, carry me , and I run to the Eucharist. It all feels so wonderful now. I need to tell you how unwavering you have been as your whole priesthood has been tainted by the atrocities of the scandal of abuse. Don’t stop , I’m listening fully, and God bless you always.

Bishop Barron has the gift of « gestalt », completion through faith and reason. In this homily, we end up with the complete image of the eucharistic reality: God sacrificing his blood life for us and us returning our own life blood to Him in an act of willful love. When I give my few fishes and loaves to God, He multiplies them and a crowd is nourished through Him. And that miracle is available to us at every Eucharist. Hence, in Church, we are not part of an organization but part of an organism. Paul is right on. Bishop Barron’s homily gives us the full and complete image that satisfies the intellect and nourishes the faith. Bless you, bishop. Levis Shalom

Bishop Barron (Father Barron) ... Happy Father's Day! I think it's apt that the feast of Corpus Christi has fallen on Father's Day, since Christ's gift (sacrifice) of His body is offered for us but to the Father (kind of like His Father's Day gift).

THE SACRAMENT OF THE ANOINTING OF THE SICK (The Letter of James 5 : 14ff in the Bible) Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders /priests / presbyters of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. .......

All ancient peoples’ sacrifices (or most) also took the form of a meal. Where God turns our clichés upside down is that the pagan sacrifice was supposed to feed the divinity and then the people got the leftovers, while Jesus offers himself to feed us in the first place! I find this sermon very illuminating. Thank you!

I always wondered how Paul knew about what went on at the Last Supper. BUT, in her Diary, St Faustina records having been "taken" to the Upper Room as an invisible witness. As Jesus did that for her, He could, and probably did, do as much for Paul. Which makes Paul's description an eyewitness account. Fascinating.

Please take note of the following 1) Paul wrote to the churches of Galatia (Galatians 1 : 11) For I would have you know brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not a gospel according to man. For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through a revelation of Jesus Christ. 2) Paul wrote to the church of God which was at Corinth ( 1 Corinthians 11 : 23) For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." ......

On the set of 'The Chosen' which you mentioned, they are actually filming the scene of the Feeding of the Five Thousand. As I am responsible for Mary's Meals in Belgium, I have this wonderful dream that we should all try to feed one child for a whole year... Mary's Meals is already feeding more than 2 million children every day when they go to school, so why wouldn't we join forces and ask the supporters of the Chosen to be generous for much more children. Why wouldn't we imitate Jesus and feed the children in need? I hope and pray this will one day be reality! Thank you for your support and your weekly sermons which always give so much more depht than what I hear in the sermons of my parish priest!

In Christ, all humanity is reconciled by the coming together of the human and the divine. When Our Souls remained Spirit and before becoming materially human, what was yet-to-be added to our sense of being by our birth? The essence of our existence was in the mind of God before all time. Maybe, our ability to share in the capacity to love as He loves for what do we take with us when we transition through death besides love?
