Your fiancé is adorable and the sweater looks great on him! I can tell he will love it. Sorry you weren’t feeling well this week but I am glad that you seem to be doing better. I also wanted to let you know that I have really appreciated hearing your comments on Drops Daisy and the pilling issues it has. I have a sweaters quantity I bought to make the Stich Season sweater, but now I have decided to pair the Daisy with an alpaca silk that will hopefully help it to hold up better, and will knit a different pattern. Have a wonderful week!

I'm so happy with how happy he was to get it! Even if it was very unfinished😅 I think it will be a great sweater for him and suit how he uses knitwear🥰 I'm glad to hear you have found it helpful! I think pairing it would be great! I've not had much pilling issues with my Levitate Wrap that is in Drops Daisy and kid silk. Have a great week❤️

Hi Oline! Love your videos. A small tip for your lovely mohair skirt: try it over the wedding dress or another skirt with the same expected volume and length (maybe from a bunad?). Since it is so light, it will probably lift itself slightly with the added skirt underneath. It might alter the final length after you’ve let it hang out a bit. 😊
@norwegianknitter

Hi! Thank you🥰 That's a good idea! The wedding dress doesn't have much volume to it, but trying it on with something underneath to see how that affects it is definitely the way to go❤️

Hope you're back to feeling completely healthy again soon! Please don't stress yourself about not reaching your knitting goals in a week where you are both sick and caring for your child on your own! Each of these alone is a good enough reason to not do as much as you expected, both together are a license to give yourself the week off, in my opinion. I'm sorry that you didn't manage to finish your fiancé's melange sweater but it looks like it worked out fine anyway. With gift knitting it's so much more about the gesture than about hitting the deadline (at least with adults ;) ). All the best from Germany :)

Thank you so much! I probably should have had more realistic expectations going into this week, but oh well. live and learn. Hopefully, this next week will bring with it more knitting time, hopefully of the relaxed type😅 I was a bit disappointed not to have a finished gift for my fiancé, but now that I've had the opportunity to involve him and knit on it next to him, I'm glad it turned out the way it did. I still got to suprise him somewhat, and now I can finish it in peace without hiding or stressing all while knowing he's excited🥹🥰

As you were talking about what to do with the celeste sweater sleeves, I was thinking that a pop of color on the ribbing of the sweater body like your porcelain sweater would look amazing...and then you said it! I think the idea for both the body and the sleeves would look so good! Gift-knitting season is in full swing! My little nephews both requested knitted beanies this year, so I need to dig through my stash and see what I have for them (:

Yes, the Porcelain Sweater is what gave me the idea, too! It's one of my favorite modifications ever! Gift knitting season is here. Now I only have to get organized😅 Beanies are my favorite when it comes to gift knitting!

All the cables look so good! I have to be careful too with the Dagmar. My hands and my left shoulder start hurting after a while. But it's so fun!! Also really like your son's Celeste. Gives off traditional Norwegian vibes ( I don't know anything about traditional Norwegian colours lol but that's what it feels like to me 😁). I think it would look great if you did some one by one colourwork on the sleeves before the ribbing to safe on the main colour yarn. And I think doing the last couple rounds and bind off in a contrast colour is a great idea. I might do that for mine. And the edges are getting dirty the quickest so having a darker colour there is perfect!
@norwegianknitter
@norwegianknitter 2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I can't get enough of the cables!! Structure is way more demanding to knit, lots of finicky motions and thinking. I think I subconscious tense up a bit when doing structured knits😅 But as you said, it's SO FUN! I agree that it kinda gives of some traditional vibes, I'm really excited to see it in use! Yes, that's the sort of color work I've been thinking about! Right? Darker edges are practical, pretty, and just a really fun way to tie the colorwork into the rest of the sweater!

I definitely would add ribbing to the Dagmar after you get to the bottom of that diamond, but that's just my thought when you tried it on. And the way you explained how you prefer your fit around the hips.
@norwegianknitter

Yes, I think that's what I'm going to do! I'm going to try it one with some trying tubing first, tho, so I can try to see how oversized it might be and if I maybe should frog back a bit even.

Maybe look up how to flat braid …I think you can use up to 4 strands /colors at a time and it still be flat…. Will be interested to hear what works

Would it help with the weight of the cabled sweater to rest it on a pillow or something on your lap? Just so that the weight is on the pillow, and not so much on your hands?
@norwegianknitter
@norwegianknitter 2 ай бұрын
That's such a good idea! I alward end up sitting hunched over when knitting, so elevating my knitting with a pillow or two would maybe solve multiple of my issues😅❤️
