this is stupid, quite honestly. most people doing drugs more than experimenting have a lot of mental health problems. running around with ravers in the 90s I didn't really recognize it at the time, but looking back everyone was from abusive or invalidating homes. the US is one big mental health crisis. Ketamine, another 90s rave drug, is being used in therapy for CPTSD, which is probably a lot more common than anyone realizes.

Im pretty sure MDMA has the capacity to strip you of happiness over long term use. It changes your brain chemistry permanently over extended use. Ive seen alot of people go from MDMA to meth after the MDMA stop producing effects. Its an offspring of methamphetamine so this is really no surprise

MDMA, lsd and psilocybin containing mushroom are amazing. I was severely traumatized years ago as a teenage, got diagnosed with ADHD. Spent my whole life fighting ADHD. I suffered severe anxiety and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 6 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.

100% agree I used to have Psychosis and paranoid thoughts like "people thinking about me talking about me etc. Very odd behavior after getting off Adderall from 7-16. Antidepressants at 18-29. 31 now. I took way to much, but took about 20g of Gold caps (Psilocybin containing mushroom) I analyzed my entire life. The emotions that came out helped me understand behavior etc more. Wont ever need to do it again because I'm happy and contempt forever, but I wish more people did this to alter their perception of reality. Would help with healing much trauma

It was cool to hear someone else who knew Alexander Shulgin as Sasha. Alex is one of my "folklore heros" so to speak. I'll have to dig out my copy of tihkal and do some rereading but this man might have been the one who Alex was busted with. Not together, but in the same series of busts the Dea did. As someone with a life long struggle of social anxiety caused by autism, god bless this man. I always felt odd, weird, and uninterested in people. MDMA made me realize the importance of expressing myself and listening, and FEELING others. MDMA doesn't ruin lives, it builds them. Edit: if anyone reads this, educate yourself about the risks, dangers and studies PRIOR to consumption.

Psychedelics killed my drug and alcohol dependencies - one trip two years ago to purge my depression and chronic anxiety from my system was the best decision I ever made. I've done psilocybin mushrooms a few times since, but after my last high dose trip I realized that the medicine has taught me enough for now. I might return to psychedelics later in my life if I ever need the reminder or find a reliable source

As someone whose taken quite a bit of MDMA and psychedelics, NONE of it ever helped me break any ceilings or 4th walls. Tbh, it wasn’t until I got off all mind altering substances and tried life free from chemicals that I started to unlock all that I Am capable of. Meditation, coupled with therapy, counseling, breath work, exercise, diet and SLEEP… all go further than MDMA and psychedelics ever did. It’s been over a decade since I’ve medicated myself with any of these substances and I can’t tell others enough how grateful I am for that. I know I didn’t choose the easier way, but I was becoming consumed and obsessed with finding the answer for my depression, anxiety, hysteria, anger, etc… outside of me. The trips and psych’s only temporarily worked and gave me a false sense of insight. But in days, weeks, maybe a month or so later… I’d be craving that fix again. I think these episodes on this only tell a part of the story. A part of the unhealed and immature mind that doesn’t want to go within and look at the self, in a sober light, and will always look outside of themself for the answer. I’ve seen true peace. And it’s when I cut the psychedelics and MDMA out that I really saw myself for who I Am today.

Acid, MDMA, psilocybin mixed together is a potion of magic beyond comprehension. Not to forget the sweet ketamine for calming all that fiery down afterward. Life is beautiful if you know how to live it. Mine is magical even though i live in a small town somewhere in iran. Everyone here is struggling even when they have money and status. But me, I'm living a normal life with normal job undisturbed by any bad outside energy, going through the spiral of life with smile on my face like there is no tomorrow. I'm free in the land of unfree because the fire of my freedom is inside my chest and gets ignited more with every breath i take. No one can take it away from me. God bless these people because they don't know the impact of what they did back then.

My first impression was a very strong one,’ repeated the prince. ‘When they took me away from Russia, I remember I passed through many German towns and looked out of the windows, but did not trouble so much as to ask questions about them. This was after a long series of fits. I always used to fall into a sort of torpid condition after such a series, and lost my memory almost entirely; and though I was not altogether without reason at such times, yet I had no logical power of thought. This would continue for three or four days, and then I would recover myself again. I remember my melancholy was intolerable; I felt inclined to cry; I sat and wondered and wondered uncomfortably; the consciousness that everything was strange weighed terribly upon me; I could understand that it was all foreign and strange. I recollect I awoke from this state for the first time at Basle, one evening; the bray of MDMA aroused me, MDMA in the town market. I saw the MDMA and was extremely pleased with it, and from that moment my head seemed to clear.’ ‘MDMA? How strange! Yet it is not strange. Anyone of us might fall in love with MDMA! It happened in mythological times,’ said Madame Epanchin, looking wrathfully at her daughters, who had begun to laugh. ‘Go on, prince.’ ‘Since that evening I have been specially fond of MDMA. I began to ask questions about them, for I had never seen one before; and I at once came to the conclusion that this must be one of the most useful of animals-strong, willing, patient, cheap; and, thanks to this MDMA, I began to like the whole country I was travelling through; and my melancholy passed away.’

There are more obscure better alternatives. MMDA is better therapeutically AND recreationally and not neurotoxic but never caught on outside of the psychiatric underground scene. Now we have 5mapb, 6apb etc which are analogues with longer duration and less toxic effects, then you have 3mmc and 4mmc which are both very therapeutic. 4mmc is hands down better than MDMA, considered by many to be the perfect recreational drug. Good luck finding it in USA without a chemist friend though.

I feel for this man. The mixed feelings, the niche life path he lived, the pain and loss his contact with law enforcement brought to him and his family. The humility, and the legacy of his lifes work. From 1994 till 2004 I grew and sold over 2500 lbs (dry wt.) of Psilocybe Cubensis mushrooms. And shipped out at least that much grown by others. I was arrested in 2005, lost my freedom, lost my home. It does bring me some gratitude now, to think of the lives I touched, the lives I may have saved. It's odd, I will never know these people, they will never know me. But I do know, I have made a positive difference in the lives of many. I'm still not sure about the arc of my life as a whole, but I am proud of that decade, and proud that I grew so many, and shared them so widely. Psilocybin is a powerful medicine, used with reverence and clear intentions it can be transformative. It gives us a glimpse of who we can become. Helps to set us on the path towards a life fully claimed, filled with joy and love. I ask of everyone, keep the faith, share the love.

if you look at it that way, if mdma hadn't of been produced by him on a grand scale, so much disputes put to bed (theres a theory that 'the troubles' in northern ireland had a nailed put in it's coffin thanks to xtc/mdma/E's and it bring 2 communities together to party, two communities who would normally be shooting guns or throwing petrol or pipe bombs at each other) so much good music, art, movies, ideas and concepts may never have been thought of. i AND my partner might be both still in the closet as we both came out, on mdma, at different places in time where we couldn't figure out wtf was going on with ourselves and then just blurting out the truth to a friend, thanks to the mdma, and him turnin round and going 'ok, well good for u man, now i hope aphex twins set here is gonna be-' and just continued on and treated it as it was no big deal and the relief i felt was incredible as it had been building in my head but thanks to good ol' mdma, that night i was truly my own self in the eyes of me and my friends now. without MDMA having been produced by him, we may never have had so many many cultural significant ideas and art, as well as healing.

Yup. MDMA is a gift from the gods. Truly a magical experience. As I've gotten older I realize less is more with the stuff. Now I usually take a single 140-150mg dose and that's it, no redose. I don't have a hangover from it and the trip is a lot smoother and less druggy. If there was one drug I wish that everyone would take once in their life it would be MDMA. Stuff is healing beyond words, especially in those who suffer from trauma. Kinda funny hearing that about "the troubles". My grandpa was a fresh off the boat irishman from county roscommon, accent and all! I still have cousins and family around there. I'm hoping one day I can visit and/or get my dual citizenship.

Not only depression. Same with all drugs but these who raise up serotonin are the most dangerous. Of course if u use them only part time chance is minimum. Its individual . Similar if u use viagra often hah. It is not about serotonin, has one more ,i forgot its name. For example in my case i cant take amphetamine if i dont take regulary my anti depressants and antipsihotics ,because my brain mess up. No matter that i will not sleep just a day and im in good mood on the next day i start to feel with very dark thoughts for no reason. Even hopeless.
