India needs succession planning which is also applicable to pens. Private pen museums have problems of eternity. Government is surely the answer. Pen certification can be done by asi valuers no one has explored the option. Can facilitate Mr ganguly

This video is somewhat of a departure from the most common topics which are covered. A serious message, an important message, and you delivered it in a compassionate, caring, concerned way. Thank You, Chawm.

Sir, I understand your emotions behind this video. I am also now thinking about this. I didn’t think about this before because actually I never thought about it. After seeing this different kind of video, I am now starting to think. Anyway, thanks for sharing this different kind of video.

Iam just a youngling, but I understand the feeling attached to a collection, specially one that's not just bought with money. But even I cant think, what would happen to these collections after a persons passing? Who will take these pens?

Dada, I understand the pain behind your word's, but this is the harsh reality of life, everything a person make with love, a house, car, anything, shall be divided as its monetary value, among the family. Who take care of loving pens.

I have wondered what would happen to my collection after i expire. I have put aside certain pens for oll the family members that i feel they should have. As far as the rest, i am sure they will be sold. I do hope they will not be thrown away which to me would be the ultimate sacrilege.

at the very least, label each pen , mark where you acquired them from and write down why it was special to you. this way, the next owner will at the least know about them...

unfortunately there's absolutely nothing you can do after you are not there.. it was also a realization for me.. made me question myself that why am i even collecting or what am i doing ..it's a painful realization.

@weblogic7723 I do it for myself, first. I enjoy my pens. As you mentioned, what happens afterwards is not really my concern. It is my wish but that is all it can be. In the meantime, I will continue to use my pens.

It is very unfortunate that we, the new youth like our disposable pens have developed a disposable mindset. Pens that our respected elders wrote their lives with the love with which they give it to us and depart, the history, the success, the sorrow should be preserved, not thrown away for a profit.

Such antiques should pass on to children in need, they will preserve the memory of the person.

Chawm, As usual, an unselfish act to refuse the pens and recommend that they be donated to Prof K C Janardhan's museum.

Race to monetise other’s collection is disrespect to legacy of writing community and sets wrong precedence to other pen collectors
