Yes it can be as often the SI joint is a part of widespread arthritis in conditions like ankylosing spondylitis. Also problems with SI joint can put extra load on other joints like hip and knee causing pain.

For Si joint there are many options ( PRP, Dexteose, steroids, cryoablation, radiofrequency ) but for nerve root or epidural it is generally steroids

Sir i have right si joint pain since 3 yrs n its depressing. MRI says right sacroilitis+lumbar spondylosis+ mild l4-5 bulge. I had taken an injection but it dint help. Could u suggest anything please?? Exercise helps only temporarily.
