@@robertewalt7789, "... when Willie recorded this song?" I think it was 1973. Also, as much as I love Willie Nelson's music, the quality of his voice has never been his best feature. IMO, even at its best it was never close to as good as Carson's. I think Kenny Rogers said something to the effect of "You don't need a good voice to sing country music, you just need to be able to tell the story." He and Willie could definitely do that.

I AM IN AWE of Josh's imitation of the pedal steel, which a ridiculously complicated instrument to play. Check out his knee while he's playing to replicate the sound. Also, that little "I'm just gonna grab the slide from my shirt pocket" is a HARD FLEX. These guys are so good together.
