Nice teaching the kids. But sorry, I have to be the safety police here lol. You can still fall all the way to the ground even when properly using a linesman’s rope. The best safety measure is to be tethered on a rappel line.

I’m an Ibew lineman. Your using tree trimmer equipment not lineman , completely different work. A harness is for the bucket or climbing steel towers. Tree trimmer saddles don’t use hooks only saddle and ropes. And start wearing long sleeves, your forearms will thank you when you burn a pole or tree.
