Yes, it's about a break up, but it's also about how hopelessly and absolutely she loves him. She knows there's nothing she can do but say 'it's okay' and let him go, even if she has a sliver of hope still lingering that they'll be what they once were. It's a breathless and painful feeling and she really isn't sure where to go now, wanting 'to be a car, lighting up the night' to show her the way. It's the truest part of human emotion and romance, representative of love and not just breaking up.(:

Oh this song! Pure beauty!!! My ex introduced me to this song, we used to get so buzzed, drinking and smoking, put this song on while I was laying in his arms and I would always cry. I have had many soul cleansing cries while listening to this song, the lyrics tug at my heart strings, it's amazing how something can be so beautiful.

This song and video are burned into my memory. My stepsister and I were up late one night in high school at a time when we were still watching MTV like people used to. This was on one of their late night/indie programs and it is the single most beautiful song I found on that channel. Listening puts me right back in that feeling of heartbreak and confusion I had throughout high school... But with music like this? To give voice to that heartbreak? It was a certain kind of beautiful.

I only discovered this song by accident as I was listening to other Indie vibed music and this came on! This is probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in every way from her voice, to the lyrics to the music! It makes you feel so many emotions all at once, while also making you feel completly calm. A song doesn't have to be globally recognized to be beautiful, the most under rated songs are probably the best songs ever written. I will definitely be listening to more by them
