Very much appreciated this instal vid. I watched a few. Yours is the best! One key point you added at the end was the need to push the lid down firmly to get it to re seat and lock in. Seeing the new seal after a few days was helpful. This is soooo simple but I spent two hours looking for a hinge/lock adjustment. I'm 60 and getting the leg over on my RK has had some scuffs. Good work young man!

Nice job. Saddleman makes a good product.I recently bought the saddlebag liner and struggled to get it to fit. I let it sit out in the sun for a few hours and it helped some. Also it would be nice if you could color match the lid cover.

I just found your channel and watched a lot of videos. If you wouldn’t mind telling us what highway pegs and mounts you’re using on the chopped engine guard. Most Ive seen say they won’t work on chopped guards. Thanks for the content

I know a few older guys mount their bikes from the right side , I know traditionally we always throw a leg over from the left, but I have tried it and for me it was easier, from the right. Cheers

I mount from the right side most of the time as well. Its interesting that motorcycle police are trained to mount and dismount from the right side so they are not getting on and off in the lane of traffic.

I’m having the same problem and have been considering doing the covers. Doing this is a lot better than having my lids scratched up. I’m 67 and the joints don’t move like they use to

I got that same air compressor I bought from Sears just before they folded. Only thing I don't like about it it the release valve at the bottom is a pain in the ass.

and... how to wash the bike, and getting rid of dust and any sand-particles accumulating underneath such cover?

I like the protection but hate the look. Could also use PPF flim protected but still get the color of your bike.

do you know if these would work with rear saddlebag lights which sit just under the lid?
@RideitWrenchit
@RideitWrenchit Жыл бұрын
They should because they only cover the lid and don't go below the bottom of the lid

If the boot scuff is the only reason for this I would learn how to put my leg through the seat, like kicking in a door over the seat, instead of over the bags.

Now that you have had these a few months, are you still happy with the product? I had the HD brand on my 2006 and were not ever happy with the velcro mounting.

Very happy. I've put 4000 miles on the bike with the lid covers on and they are still tight and look like the first day I put them on. The lid bolts that hold them on work well, so I don't have the issues of the velcro peeling off or coming loose. So far its been a great product.

@@RideitWrenchit thank you! I really value your videos. I used your handlebar video to swap my bars on 2015 ultra. Well done.

Alright. It's been almost a year. Do you still feel the covers have been worthwhile? I'm thinking of getting some for my Road Glide but I've read in the forums that saddlebag covers seem to be more trouble than they're worth either maintenance-wise and/or protecting the paint beneath. Your opinion?

I still love them, I've got 8K miles with them and they are still tight and have never come loose. The mounting system using the saddlebag lid screws works excellent and I've not had the issues that other brands have with the velcro coming loose in the heat.

Anyone tried these when they have speakers? Does it ruin the sound or no?
