To cherish every day we have. that we have the ability to love. even if we are attracted to someone. She isn't singing to a specific person. She sings about the meaning of love and cherishes it. The sad thing about your reactions is that you tend to unpack the meaning literally. Your friend needs to get a life and have a sense of imagination, You are both wrong. It is about cherishing what we have. That deep sense of love. Sade is a fantastic artist. And if you sit there and unpack her music as a literal meaning, you are missing the point. That's why music these days have no creativity and no meaning. Sade's latest Album was Solider of Love in 2010. And she did a world tour in 2011. And she is currently working on a new album. Sade is just a very private person who promotes her albums when she is ready.

She's not an MC, she's not rapping, she's a singer. The way singers created music is not the same. She's painting a picture about how much her dude means to her and is it hyperbolic? Sure. Does she literally mean she wants to go to hell? Hell, naw! She expressing the amount of love she has for him and it exceeds any thing she can compare it to. Now, most adults or even children who grew up listening to this style of music would not analyze it like they were deciphering bars. Nah, we understand the flow and respect the genre.

It's really not confusing. She's in love with someone, and she's saying if she had them she would feel so good that 'heaven can wait'. That is quite a common theme in love songs, even adverts for chocolate bars!
