BACKSTORY
As #Sade's 30th anniversary of the release of their 4th studio album #LoveDeluxe draws closer (next month on the 26th), here is the 3rd song from this album I've chosen to remix, #FeelNoPain. For those wondering what & where that intro music is from, that's #DonRandi's "The Fox" from the album 'Don Randi Plays the Love Theme From Romeo & Juliet' (1969). Why I chose it is because one of those dopest Hip Hop songs of the 90s #boombap era use it as a sample to create "Respiration" from 1998 album #MosDefandTalibKweliareBlackstar, produced by the great #HiTek (who I pay tribute to in the song title, and a sly nod to Erik B. & Rakim's joint, but I don't use that in my remix 😉).
Anyway, I initially was going to take that song into a house version but then it sounded too busy and I lost inspiration with it until I saw an Instagram post featuring that Blackstar/Tek banger and...BAM!💡I had a whole new idea and ran with it!
Available now on my website (link in the bio, naturally), and I gotta say this is one of my new favorites, hands down! 🙌🏾 (or hands up 😂) Get a neck brace cuz you're gonna be head-nodding repeatedly for sure!
